Valvoline VR1 Racing SAE 30 Motor Oil 1 QT

I am using this oil for break-in of a 302 Crate motor I put in my 1969 Ford Clubwagon. After close to 500 miles, the oil level has not dropped. I believe the higher than normal Zinc levels are key. Will likely use again after first oil change.

I would definitely buy again oil is well functioning. It seems to have cut down on the noise and all in all great value for your money.

The added zinc in this oil helps prevent engine wear. This is the only oil I use in my small block Chevy 350

I purchased this for my lawnmower, which is equipped with a Honda engine that specifically requires SAE 30 oil. The mower is 17 years old, so I wanted to get a high quality oil, and Valvoline has an excellent reputation. I'm not an independent testing lab, so I can't comment on whether or not it works any better than no-name big box store oil. But the price was fair for the reputed quality, and I've been happy with it. At least, the ol' gal hasn't seized up on me. I don't give five stars for products I can't personally vouch for through my own testing or validation. There is no way for me to guy a dozen old lawnmowers and test every brand of oil in a laboratory environment to say whether or not this actually works as described.

I have used this oil for 30 + years. I don't believe it has the same amount of zinc as it has in previous years due to enviromental regulations. It is still my go to choice for motor oil (VR1 SAE 30). My review here is to relate how well the oil was shipped. Each quart was sealed wrapped with plastic, and packed securly in the shipping box. No leaks or damaged product.
