Colour & Light in Watercolour: New Edition [Print Replica] Kindle Edition

Nice looking book. Id rather have the 20$ or so dollars it cost. Not an instructional like I thought it would be. It does have excercisces bit not great. Not so much about light either. I waited to review this book because I was a beginner painter. Disappointing.

This is a gorgeous book. The content gets 5 stars. But I cannot download it to any of my Kindle devices except my computer app, so I am giving it 1 star, because I know that people check the 1 star reviews for technical issues.It won't download onto my iphone 8 or my brand new iPad Air, fully updated, or even my Kindle paperwhite. I thought maybe it was because the books were too big to download via wifi, but when I tried to download them via USB, Amazon says "You have selected content that is not compatible with any of your registered devices. Please remove incompatible content from selection for eligible devices to appear." So I can't download this *at all* except onto my computer. I had hoped to sit at the dining table with this on my iPad to follow the exercises, but that won't be happening :( And the book is lovely, and very inspiring.Get this in the paper format. That is my plan !

Beautiful book. Inspiring watercolor pics & instructions. Love loose watercolor paintings & will be trying out Ms. Haines painting style. I received my book in less than 48 hrs. It was in a padded envelope & in excellent condition. I would purchase from this seller again.

This book by Jean Haines, along with the others, are amazing. Her approach to instruct and inspire is like no other. At first glance Jean Haines' work as a step by step may appear intimidating, but her confidence in you as a painter pushes one forward. The book touches on so many things other than capturing light. There are tips and words of inspiration. I read her books through, study what she is teaching then work through the tutorials I want. If you like this loose and atmospheric style of watercolor, this and all her books are a must.

I could spend hours learning from Jean Haines. This book was very helpful.

Queen of lost edges in watercolor...perfect inspiration!

Fantastic book! I bought for my daughter who has just started basic watercolour painting to inspire her. I nearly kept it for myself, but instead put it on my present list! I am trying to develop my watercolour paintings and this is the perfect book. Has so many useful tips and useful projects in easy to follow steps. If nobody buys it for my birthday, I shall treat myself. Can't wait to try it out.

I'm only half way through so far but I'm really enjoying this book. I think this will certainly help me loosen up my watercolour technique. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend to others who are interested on this loose style of painting.

This is the first book I have purchased by this artist and have found it very helpful, well presented and am at present using it as a basis for experimenting with this type of watercolour painting.
