Exactly what I expected!
I ordered this cute little device to keep my knee moving while watching TV or reading in my lounger (one that's good for the back). It is really quite well-made and was fairly easy to put together. Like others, at first I put the meter on the wrong side, since there were really no markings that coincided with those mentioned in the enlarged view. However, looking more closely at the picture of the full apparatus, I saw that I had it configured wrong. Once that was remedied, I was off to the races.I am recovering from knee surgery, and it is important that the knee and foot are in alignment. I am peddling while I'm talking to you but had to make some adjustment to the little table that my computer sits on in order to make sure my knee was in proper alignment. Also, for the first two times I used the device, the movement was a pretty jerky and I got one that emitted a loud squeak with each turn. Since my husband was annoyed with this, he took it into his workshop and applied some silicone spray to the part that turns and that it worked like a charm. It is now very smooth turning and there is a now only little bit of turning noise that will quickly fade away under the TV noise. The other item to look for: be sure to hold down the red button a few seconds to bring up the 888 Numbers and set to zero. It took techie hubby only a few seconds to figure that one out.i use this item on a carpet and that keeps it from moving. I suspect that if you use it on a hardwood floor, you would need the accompanying cord to keep it line. I have not yet used it for my arms on a table, but I doubt that it would move very much since the Device is very stable. That is one of the reasons I chose this over one of the less-expensive devices. I have a large recumbent bike I use in an exercise room, but it's too large to move around wherever I need it. This Device is perfect for any chair, and I can keep my new knee moving while it heals!Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and talked myself into five stars instead of four stars, since the problems were quickly overcome. It's exactly what I expected and perfect for my use.Update: after two months of use, from 30-80 minutes daily, I'm still very happy. I use only a little tension on it. No more applications of silicone spray have been necessary. No heat has been felt. I've lost 15 lbs in 2 months - without dieting, so my knee exercises along with using this great little apparatus must be helpful, at least in in my case.

It's not a real weight loss solution, but still very beneficial to the desk worker, and can even be fun
I've been using this desk pedaler daily at work for about 2 months. I pedal for a total of maybe 5 hours a day, and a lot of my rest time I still just keep my feet in the pedals because it's a habit now and I like moving my legs. When I bought this cycle, I was debating between it and splurging on the $160 DeskCycle, which I knew would be better but I wasn't sure if I'd commit to using it so I bought the cheaper one. I'm glad I bought this one and saved the money, though there are some disadvantages. The resistance knob is my biggest complaint. It's friction resistance while the DeskCycle is magnetic, and you have to forcefully tighten the knob. I can't tighten it enough to get a satisfactory resistance for any kind of real workout. And being friction, the pedaling isn't as smooth as I imagine magnetic would be.The display is useless when using it under the desk. The cycle is strapped to my rolling chair with the provided strap, and it's a pain having to reposition it just right so my knees don't hit under the desk, so I try to just not move it if possible. Therefore, to look at the display I have to get on my hands and knees since it's dark under there, and I've just given up using it. The DeskCycle comes with an extension cord to a display which sits on your desk, which would be nice. It is light though, so if I have to move it I can pick it up with my strapped-in feet and get a little more ab exercise. The pedals are good, the straps fit almost just right, but it'd be nice to have more adjustment holes than 2 on each side. The straps are a flexible plastic and seem durable. It's a little squeaky sometimes, but soft and I don't think it bothers my neighbors.I've read other reviews mention the heat, and while the bars do get hot, I never need to touch them so I don't notice. As I said the resistance isn't really high enough to give a good workout so it doesn't make me sweat, but it's just enough to keep my legs active while sitting. It's a habit now so I imagine I'll use it for some time. Also, if I really need to concentrate on my work I can't pedal, but the pauses are welcome and I pick right back up after the moment.
