Not worth the $100+ price tag…
The media could not be loaded. So, let me preface this review by stating that I purchased this globe “used/open box” from Amazon Warehouse in “Acceptable” condition for $36.XX. With that said, I received it in it’s original packaging and with all pieces included and with no damage aside from something that’s going on with how it turns. It’s almost as if it’s off axis and isn’t assembled correctly within the stand so I will look into those issues when I have a moment.None of this is a big deal now though because this globe is for decorative purposes and will rarely be used. So, my review will be from a decorative perspective with occasional use.I’ll be keeping this globe because I paid a reasonable price that could be considered a “deal.” However, if I paid $100+ retail price I’d be returning it. The base and stand parts are super cheap and it shows. They look like the manufacturer tried to make them look like real metal where there is plastic and wood where there is plastic. So, keep in mind when purchasing this that it has absolutely no metal on it.Plastic would be OK but it’s cheap plastic which is unacceptable for the price point. The base being wood would be OK but it’s not even close to being quality, which in unacceptable for the price point. It couldn’t cost that much more to manufacture this globe with a stand of high quality plastic and real wood base. The illumination is decent and looks really good in my opinion. At the price point, it better look good though. Honestly, it should really include some cheap smart device or timer on the illumination to schedule it off and on though. Another missing feature that could have easily been included. Now for the actual globe. It’s nice, looks professional and accurate, and is a great size. Since it is illuminated it must be quite thin for the light to penetrate from the inside so keep that in mind. It wouldn’t be hard to crush it or dent it and I highly doubt it could be fixed at that point. The text looks to be accurate and easy to read. One feature I had to have was an accurate raised surface and this globe does that well.It seems to be a recent trend that profit margins for everything have to be exponentially exponential now so quality take a large cut and prices take a large hike. Skip this globe unless you are paying less than $50. There are better ones out there.

Good buy
My kids love how the light in the globe changes the color of the globe.

The World at My Fingertips
As a "visual" person, the Internet has been a major disappointment when describing events taking place half a world away. Where's the "half?" This globe is a MAJOR reminder of Geography 101 back in the day. I see where things happen, and I see where I am. I love it!

Its awesome even if a bit expensive
This globe is great in accuracy and detail. The mountains are raised. Its got little arrows showing wind streams. Color shows locations of deserts and rainforests. Its light is on all the time and reminds me to see the world. I always refer to it whenever the family and i talk about a place. Its light makes it so much better than a regular globe and totally worth it. I wish it was $60. $100 is too much, but i guess i do get that much joy out of it. So i guess it is ok. It gets dusty over time. I always just wiped it off and then one time i used windex. The windex took the print right off!! ruined it. Had to buy another. NEVER CLEAN WITH WINDEX. lesson learned. And when i bought another one i went a bought this one again. Sooo. i guess it is worth it...

$100 wasted
2 months of having this globe and carefully caring for it, this thing broke. The screw that attaches the base to the globe is plastic and therefore not fixable. I'm unable to get a replacement screw or any solution for a $100 purchase??? Very disappointed.

Cheaply built
I gave this as a Christmas present. Upon opening I was disappointed in the quality of the build. The entire stand is plastic, and looks like plastic. The globe itself is ok, but the whole thing just looks like its cheap.

Exquisite Presentation
I bought this globe for my niece and her two children of school age. Everyone loved the design, size, and illumination features. Her husband announced, "we are putting this in the living room where everyone who comes can enjoy it."

Lopsided, poorly manufactured, over-priced globe.
I was actually excited when I saw "Made in Italy" on the label, but once I opened the package, I got let down pretty quickly. I purchased this globe as a gift, and am disappointed in the poor design. The northern hemisphere is misshapen and thereʻs an "overbite" along the equator. A lot of the gummy, contact cement-like adhesive was haphazardly left on the plastic meridian, wooden base, and along the edges of where the hemisphere should have met. On top of all of that, the bulb burnt out as soon as I plugged it in. $114.99 was what I paid, but i would rather get a refund and get my money back. Such a bummer.
