They work well!
I purchased these upholstery pins to attach protective cat scratching fabric to my upholstered furniture. Even though the scratching fabric has a 'sticky' side, it doesn't stick well to other fabric. I just screwed a few of these pins into the fabric and through the upholstery on my furniture, and that seems to secure the protective fabric to the furniture.

A lifesaver! Saved me hundreds!
These are fantastic and I'm so glad I found out they existed. I recently painted my living room and my brown couch did not look good with the color and it had a stain that I couldn't get out. I needed a fix before Christmas (didn't want guests to view the ugliness), and I really didn't want to have to buy a new couch because mine isn't very old. My couch is a very large size and I couldn't find a slipcover that would fit it. I am also not a very good seamstress so I didn't know what to do. I came across a blog that recommended using these to keep slipcovers from slipping, and that gave me an idea. Instead of sewing my own slipcover or even buying one, I made one using a duvet cover and these pins. I had a duvet cover that was unused and stashed away in the linen closet. I took it apart at the seams using a seam ripper and then I tucked it into the couch wherever I needed it and used these pins to hold it in place. Anywhere it was loose, I fastened it with these. Because these are clear and somewhat small, you can barely see them, and even if you do see them, they look like little decorative buttons. My couch looked good enough that my brother thought I got a new one and my sister asked me how my slipcover looked so tight and good.As for function, the pins act as little screws. You stab them through the fabric and upholstery and twist them until they screw in flat. The come out by twisting them the opposite way. They are easy to insert and remove, and they hold up well. I have had numerous people sitting on my couch, including my five-year-old daughter who likes to squirm and throw herself around on the couch and these have stayed in place perfectly. The only downside is that I have to remove all of them to wash my slipcover, but that isn't anything against the pins but against myself for making a fake slipcover. They are totally worth it though. I bought a fifty pack for fewer than ten bucks which saved me what the cost of a new couch or a custom-made slip cover would be, which is what? Hundreds? Thousands?I am very happy with my purchase! I plan to buy more to slipcover a little chair of my daughter's that has become stained. If you want a slipcover or to cover any sort of bad upholstery and you don't know how to sew or don't want to take the time, this is your answer! Buy these and some fabric, a sheet, or anything else you can use and make your furniture look new.

Great for rugs! "Heads" pop off a bit easy for traditional use though
I initially bought these for a completely different use (securing the corners of a vintage area rug to a berber carpet in our rental so it wouldn't trip anyone or flip every time we vacuumed) and they honestly worked perfectly for this use! No issues screwing them through both layers of rug & not uncomfortable when you accidentally stepped on them, plus the "heads" stayed on when we ran the vacuum over them with no issue. However, god forbid you accidentally knick it with your flip flop, because that little plastic head is gonna go flying and now you'll have a nice hard metal point coming out of your carpet (needle nose pliers, here we go).We also used them to keep our sheets in place, as intended, and the "heads" popped off several times during this use, making it near useless. We decided to just get deep pocketed sheets.I'm not sure if maybe some of these are just not as secure as others in the package, and we seem to keep grabbing the "duds" or what. Either way, though, they worked for my hairbrained idea and protected the edges of our 200+ year old Persian rug from further unraveling.

easy to use
These little screw in pins are the perfect item to keep the bedskirt in place. Just be sure you are not trying to screw them in where there is a hard surface under the fabric. These will come in handy in numerous situations where fabric needs controlling.

They work great
I got this 30 pc pack to do the headliner inside of my VW Beetle, which was 50+ years old and looking terrible. These upholstery tacks twist and spiral in when applied, and they bit right into the old original VW material. My project was a complete success.

Hold well but…
These hold the fabric in place, but the more it gets sat on, the more it tears the fabric. Even denim. Taking the out is a pain and again it tears the fabrics

Great for saggy couch covers
I bought a couch cover from Etsy that sagged around the back cushions. I complained to the seller on Etsy and they recommended these pins! and they were right, it works! The screw mechanism is key to this product working. That way, when you sit and pull on the fabric, the pin doesn't just pop right out. Because it's screwed in, it keeps the fabric in place. I've had this for about one week. I'll update if the pins don't hold or if they snap.
