Fantastic Blender, great price
Paid $59.99 for the blender which came with a food processor attachment. My Review:I bought this blender mostly so my wife could make (fruit smoothies. Let me describe what that means. She fills the blender to the rim with everything including spinach, cucumbers, kale, grapefruit, bananas, lemons, and always topped with a bunch of frozen like a rock strawberries. She then blends them until smooth. The darn blender handles it with ease. I'm up here writing this review minutes after watching the process, and hearing her happily exclaim "Wow it's so nice and smooth, no chunks, I love this blender!". She never had to remove the lid to stir or anything. Just filled it up ( did I mention to the rim) pulsed it a couple times, then pressed smoothie, a minute later done!I like the blender because the blades detach from the cup for a truly thorough cleaning. My last blender from a different maker kept getting mold like material at the bottom in the crevices where the cup met the blades. Couldn't clean it no matter what.GET THIS YOU"LL LOVE IT!As for the other review complaints:I see a bunch of reviews complaining about to things. They complain that;1) the blender is not stable - Sure it is. But anyone who doesn't gently rest their hand on top of a blender chopping ice cubes into flakes really isn't that swift to begin with.2) It has a hard time making milkshakes - Come on, did you get the milkshake attachment if it's that critical for you to make milkshakes without having to push down on the ice cream? No then do so, it's about $9. Otherwise don't be surprised that the blender doesn't instantly suck floating densely packed ice cream down to the blades and turn it into a smooth creamy taste of heaven....expect to give it a helping hand(or preferably spoon) to stir it.

OMG......once you go oster you won't go back.
I bought this blender because well I am not on a vitamix, ninja or blendtec budget(yes i called them out). Purchased this bad boy in June for the purpose of making smoothies. I need to lose atleast 49 extra pounds that gained from stress eating. Any who....my experience is as follows:I use rock hard fruits and vegetables. I like a good sale so when I see strawberries at $1.00 each I buy at least all not considering those behind who want a piece of deal. I really needed to lose the pounds. Now this is what I do. Note the operative word here is "I". My fruits can be frozen for months when I put them into the blender with "Enough Liquid" I hit the ice crush button. Because Hey its like crushing ice right. Then I hit my smoothie button to combine everything together. Then I hit the puree button. i like a smooth drink. Now am just having fun here because who doesnt like to just drink the pounds away. But it whips up the most delicious smoothies.I have never had no clumps of veggies or fruits in my tall glasses of deliciousness.Hahaha am down 30 pounds already just ten more to go!Now if you are like me and cant afford to shell out the big bucks to buy the big names on the market get yourself one of these. My mom has been using oster ever since I could recall. This oster is depenable, makes great smoothies and Takes Up Little counter space. Thank you Oster. You really should consider hitting the buy now button its worth it.

My first blender and great so far
I got this mainly so I can write reviews about blenders, and also to make smoothies. So far it is working excellently for both purposes. I have made two smoothies, and they were both smooth and delicious. As for this Oster 8-speed, 6-cup blender, it seems to have sturdy construction... especially for the price! I don't know what other people use these for, but for blending frozen fruit with milk and yogurt, I haven't needed anything above the first 3 speeds.I suppose its fairly narrow base could make it unsteady at top speed with chunky stuff being blended, but at low speeds there is no need to steady this appliance.A warning to other first-time blender owners: familiarize yourself with the parts layout before disassembling your blender for washing! I forgot that there are 4 seperate pieces to the pitcher when washing it, and when I unscrewed the plastic base, the blade fell straight out! This is dangerous on its own, but had it fallen into the garbage disposal rather than landing in the sink as it did, it would have probably cut me up when I fished it out. The only damage the blade sustained from hitting my steel sink were very small barbs at its blades' ends. I'll probably use a whetstone to remove the hooks this created, and until then will just be careful. That said, I didn't hurt myself, and if I had I could only blame myself. Anyways, I look forward to blending more stuff with this device soon. This Oster probably should not be used to blend an iPhone, but it blends soft food like a boss.
