Worked to get old software that required parallel port security dongles working
I was able to use this card with Sentinel and HASP4 parallel port security dongles to get some old software working. One caveat: the ability to remap to legacy memory addresses on these ports is restricted to DOS. The included software will not even recognize that the card is installed from a Windows command prompt window. Fortunately, the Sentinel and HASP command line utilities allows the lpt port address setting to be changed from the old 378 and 278 to the higher addresses Windows assigns to PCI devices.

Not a true parallel port
This is not a valid parallel port. It requires special Windows drivers, which are useless on Linux. I need a proper hardware port. That should be made clear in the description.

If you have a lot of legacy parallel port apps, this is for you.
Normal PCI card installation. Works well with programs that treat the LPT ports as parallel I/O ports.

works good

but then it can be useful for upgrades later
Compatible with LinuxCNC if you're looking for parallel port for it. Two ports means plenty of pins if you need it. I didn't, but then it can be useful for upgrades later.

Limited utility
This device does not appear to have any input capability (which, unfortunately, was what I wanted). It can probably run two parallel-port printers if you still have these oldies around. The documentation is hopelessly inadequate, and support is nonexistent.

Junk
Tried on three different machines all running WinXp. First one recognized the card, but driver installer insisted on installing serial port drivers along with the parallel port on the card. I never could get it to work and ended up having to do a system restore to prevent BSD on startup. The other two machines would not recognize the card at all. All three had ASUS motherboards and rather generic hardware, so this should be a no-brainer. As the driver disk is obviously designed to satisfy many differing I/O cards and the attention paid to the management and writing of the drivers I am not surprised and only lost $10.00Don't do the same.

Works... when it works!
This product works after installing the driver multiple times on Windows XP. The driver is not clearly marked and my computer cannot auto detect the driver for easy install. After reinstalling the driver multiple time (4-5 times), it finally detected my old parallel port printer and all was good.I have since then installed Windows 7 Professional on my computer and cannot get the card to work. I gave up after two hours of trying to figure out which driver was the correct one. So, bottom line, its a 50/50 shot that it will work if you are computer savvy.

It's a keeper
It was detected by Linuxcnc automatically. It turned out that I don't need this board, but I am keeping it for future project.

Works fine with LinuxCNC
As it is recommended around the forums, this chipset works fine with LinuxCNC. Although it is a 3.3V logical level voltage.
