Great phone mount
Great phone mount. I love the extra security feature in case the bungy fails. I took a hard fall last week and the case kept my smartphone secure. My bike and case have some battle scars but both are holding up great. It comes with a waterproof bag if you need. And yes the touch screen works through the bag. Overall I would recommend this to anyone. Update: Bike Caddy is still fantastic! I recently upgraded my phone to a Samsung S5. The S5 fits in the caddy without a case on the phone. The width is snug and leaves no room to have a case on it. The other problem is the length -the caddy has to be opened as wide as it can go to get the S5 in it. That makes it awkward and difficult installing and removing the phone from the case. I thought purchasing the larger caddy 7.8x3.5x.5 would be the answer but.... There's more than enough room for the width -a little too much but that's OK. The length is good. The problem is the height. This caddy has a lower profile so the S5 doesn't fit in the Caddy with a case on the phone. If you take the case off the S5, the phone fits but the phone wants to push through the slots on the top and bottom of the case. These caddies are great products, I'm just disappointed it didn't work out. I think if the case was the same height as the smaller one and 3.25" wide it would be a better fit. Update: 9/15/2016 I ordered the Delta HL6002 Smartphone Caddy 2.9"x.625"x5.5" for another bike and I received the Delta Bike Computer Caddy instead. I submitted a return/replace item request with the comment about why the wrong item was sent. Those comments were ignored and I was sent the same Delta Bike Computer Caddy as the replacement. The problem is the warehouse put the sticker label for the Delta HL6002 Smartphone Caddy on the Delta Bike Computer Caddy. The Delta Bike Computer Caddy item number is HL5000 not HL6002.

Inexpensive, lightweight, secure phone mount. A good alternative to a handlebar mount.
I've been using this mount for about 3 months now. The reason I chose this mount over another one was because my handlebars are oversized in the center where they attach to the stem, but standard sized everywhere the bar tape goes. This means there's a ~2 inch section on either side of the stem that's conically shaped, and that makes it all but impossible to mount anything there. I moved my headlight to a fork crown mount, but later I decided I wanted to mount my phone on my handlebars. This mount, because it actually attaches to to the headset (replaces the headset cap), works well for me. To install the mount, remove your headset cap and replace it with the included cap. Attach the phone mount to the new cap at whatever angle you like. Done. To insert your phone into the mount, you put the top of the phone in first, then push it up against the elastic bands until you can fit the bottom of the phone in. It seems to be a pretty solid design, but I do worry about the elastic bands wearing out eventually. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 in a small case. It fits well in this mount, but I'd worry about any phone that's much bigger. When the S3 is in this mount, I can access all the ports and controls (entire screen, home button, volume/lock buttons, charging and headphone ports) except for the back and menu buttons below the screen. The mount does shade the ambient light sensor above the screen, so if you want any chance at reading the screen in full sunlight, turn off auto screen brightness and crank it all the way up manually. The phone seems to be held in place very well. The mount does flex some, which seems to be by design. The packaging does say "not for off road use," so I usually remove my phone from the mount when I go over very rough roads or off road. My phone has only fallen out once. That was as I was going over a highway rumble strip at around 15mph. (road bike, 32mm tires) To be fair, I'm not sure I had put the phone back in the mount correctly. This mount has been extremely helpful in navigating unfamiliar areas with google maps. I can see on-screen directions, and I can hear spoken directions unless I'm doing over 25-30mph. Summary: Inexpensive, lightweight, secure phone mount. A good alternative to a handlebar mount. UPDATE May 2015: The Smartphone Caddy is still running just fine. I've been using it for several hours each week on commutes and it's been great. However, I just got a Motorola Droid Turbo, which is larger than my Galaxy S3 even with no case. The Turbo fits in this "regular" size mount just barely, but if I'm not careful it'll open the mount past its limits and I'll have to re-insert the plastic sliders. Now I'm considering buying the larger version of the same mount.

I think this product is great. I got the "Android" version because the iPhone ...
Recently got an Otter Box case for my iPhone and needed to find a new holder for my bicycle. For the most part, I think this product is great. I got the "Android" version because the iPhone version would not be large enough with the Otter case. First, the fit is not perfect. The Otter case is still just slightly too big for the phone to fit perfect. However, it IS big enough to hold my phone securely. In fact, very securely. Before mounting it on my bike, I put the phone in, turned the holder upside down and tried my best to shake it out of the holder. No doing... it was staying put. Also, extremely easy to get the phone in and out. Much quicker than the holder I have been using which is designed specifically for the iPhone with no case around it. I also feel like the phone is much better protected now when I ride. Big plus. My only minor complaint is that the stem cap installment was not perfect for my bike (I have a mid-priced endurance road bike). Not sure what type of bike they expected this to be installed on, but their included screw was not right for my Fuji. I was able to use the screw from my previous holder, but it was slightly too wide for the new mount, so it took some effort to get the screw through it and mounted to my bike. I think this product would become very popular very quickly if they provided just a couple more size options. The height and width were both fine for the Otter box, by the way. It is the depth that does not fit perfect. Overall, I think it's a great product for a very reasonable price. As always, Amazon has done an amazing job with customer service (price and shipping). I've placed hundreds of orders with Amazon now for dozens and dozens of different products and not one time have they gotten my order wrong or had a major delay in shipping.

Not as great as expected
So I saw this in person at my local bike shop and thought the concept was pretty good. The display model seemed decent and could possibly do the shop. Unfortunately, they shut down due to Covid19 and have not opened yet so I bought this on Amazon. It came in pretty quick given the recent events and packaged well. But that's not what we're here for: Installation: The installation was very simple! We installed it on the stem as pictured, thinking that this would be the most secure. All the hardware was included but I did use my own allen tool to take the stem cap off. At first glance, it seemed that this location would be very sturdy and not move around while biking, which we do everyday. Actual Use: So my wife has the iPhone XS which is pretty light. The phone fit very well in the mount and even with your RhinoShield bumper case on it. The band is a bungee cord so it should hold up over time. You have the option to tilt the mount to many different angles. My wife tilted her mount slightly up to have a better view of her screen. Shortly after she started to ride, the mount fell flat. As pictured, there is a "lock" that is supposed to keep the mount from sliding up/down but it's as useless as a front door with no knob. The "lock" does not lock anything into place. The product video shows the actor using the lock and it working as a lock should but not so in real life application. As for the tilting of the mount. There are teeth that allow you to get any angle you want which is great in theory. While riding, we found that it does not hold well, and yes we made sure the screw is tight, and would constantly fall flat during our ride(s). Now to get your desired angle is a bit of a hassle as well. You have to make sure the mount is slide up to have access to the screw. Then, you use a phillips screwdriver to secure your desired angle. I can see where this would be an issue for a casual rider that does not have any tools on hand. We have an under saddle bag that has a small tool set for anything that can happen so we're covered. But thinking of the casual rider, the mom/dad just doing a joy ride with their child, they more than likely won't have that handy and just have to ride with their mount flat. Overall: The concept is good but the execution, not so much. We will continue to use the product but we are looking at the Quad Lock to replace this item and we'll move it to my mountain bike. Would I recommend this to anyone? Not at the moment. If they upgraded the mechanism used to adjust and hold the position of the desired angle and upgrade the "lock" then yes. Until those things are fixed, my rating will be a 1 star. If they come out with an update, I can possibly increase my rating. Pros: *Able to mount on handle bar or in the stem *Comes with needed hardware to mount on either spot Cons: *Lock does not actually lock *Does not stay in place while riding *Adjusting your desired angle is not as simple as it could be

Does the job, but could be a lot easier to use.
This is not that easy to install. And once you do install it, putting the iPhone 6 in it can be a bit frustrating as the tongs keep sliding out of the tracks, and aligning them to get them back in is not easy. The plastic seems a bit flimsy too. Regardless, it does hold my phone well, the cushion stickers are good for absorbing some of the vibration and it can easily be positioned for best viewing of the screen. This product needs some work to make it easier to place and remove the phone.

I really appreciate this product
I intended to review this months ago but never got around to it. The short story is it gets five stars and I'd like to commend the mfr on a quality product that works better than I could have expected. This season I began riding gran fondos. After continually getting lost, I put OSMAND on my Samsung Galaxy and downloaded the GPX file before each ride. The phone doesn't do much good in my pocket, so I bought the Delta caddy. Strapped a http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002AC1L7M/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 to the bottom of the caddy and I never had to worry about the battery running low. The setup worked well. Wrapped the phone and Airlink in plastic during wet weather and everything seemed to stay dry. This August I was on a fondo, hit a road hazard, and went over the handlebar. Hard. Briefly, I didn't fare well. The bike was damaged. Meanwhile, the cradle stayed on the bike and the phone and battery were still secure in the cradle; not a scratch. I appreciated having the phone with me during my hospital stay. I used to carry the phone in my jersey pocket. The accident taught me that if you land on your back, whatever you have in your pocket is going to be driven into it. For now on, the phone has a permanent place in the caddy and I will never carry anything harder than a tube in my pockets.

Good phone mount for scooter
I purchased the Delta Smartphone Caddy II for my Kymco Like scooter. Took a gamble being as this is meant for bicycles, but it works well for scooters/motorcycles too. It comes with a handlebar grip attachment, which was useless for me because my handlebars are covered by plastic, It would have been perfect for a motorcycle or other style of scooter with exposed handlebars though. I used a small "C" clamp, originally for a bicycle horn and attached it to my rearview mirror. It's snug and holds the phone securely. No complaints so far. The real test is to see how long the rubber band that secures the two sections of the caddy together will hold up. They keep two sliding sections snug, but those pieces fit together so snuggly they don't do too much. All in all this is a great phone holder for bike, scooters and motorcycles.

Great universal mount.
Anything better requires a special case, this holds pretty much any phone well during rides. Very sturdy and easy to place/remove the phone.
