I really can't find a reason to give it any less than 5 stars. I purchased a pair of these, plus a pair of 6x9's to replace the ones in my 1989 Trans Am. These fit very well in the front section underneath the dash where the factory ones were, and went in without a problem. I used the ends of the wires provided in the package to connect the speaker to the factory wiring harness. Room for improvement: the provided wires could have used finished plugs on BOTH ends. Would have made life a little bit easier, but it isn't reason enough to dock one star. I used the factory screws to mount them, no issues there. They took up the same amount of space under the dash as the factory 4x6's. They fit flush. Performance-wise, I'm satisfied. These, combined with 6x9's in the rear behind my head, make for a very full sound with ADEQUATE bass. I played some classic rock and some EDM, and overall it handled very well. I cranked the volume to the maximum my ears could tolerate, and I heard no crackling, popping or distortion of any kind. A subwoofer is needed in order to complete the system, but the sound system as it is now, is totally acceptable. BOSS audio makes a great speaker for the price. I wouldn't change a thing about it. It's a nice, full sound with plenty of tolerance for abuse. If you're on a budget and need speakers to replace your "full-range" speakers, these are for you.

Very pleased with this purchase! I didn't expect much in the way of performance considering the price and physical size of the speakers (4x6) but am blown away by their performance and level of workmanship. I bought these to replace the stock dash speakers in my old truck. They fit right in using the stock speaker holes and sound great.

Arrived on time and exactly what I ordered. These speakers were fairly cheap ($$) but a great value. Changed all the speakers in my 1972 El Camino. I didn't want to spend big $$ for a car that has a loud rummble. They sound great when the car is not running and really good sound and volume when I'm driving. I picked these speakers for price and a brand name of Boss. I bought other sizes for the 72 El Camino (dash, doors, and back widnow speaker tray) Very happy with purchase

Well took a few days for the speakers to be delivered but what you expect with prestige delivery. The Speakers though are really nice actually. I'm upset that the cover that comes with them can't be installed in my car since its all in dash but doesn't matter. They seem to have decent sound quality but just don't push them to much. Sure they can handle very well but when I cranked it up the right one did crackle a little but that was expected since it wasn't really mounted and didn't have the back speakers hooked up so the Head Unit was pumping all of its power into this tiny thing. I do have to say make sure you have polarities matched up, if you don't that may cause a problem blowing speakers. Look online for a list of the colors on your stock wires to match them up. My friend and I are going to have to redo the wires because it was dark and we are certain polarities are messed up. If you are looking for a very high-fi type sound these aren't it. These really only replace your stocks that have died or are dying. I do have to say the speaker wire that comes with them isn't the best but hey it worked. I'm going to enjoy my system next step is to get an amp and subs. Watch my fiance will kill me when I do that hahahaha.

Decent quality speakers to get volume going they fit perfectly in the factory spot. Only gonna give 3 stars because they are budget speakers not the best of the world but sound good and pretty clear but you are gonna be winning no competitions. Connect to an amp to make them sound even louder .

Boss isn't the "best" brand by a long shot but you expect it to at least function right? Not the case here, from the first day one of the speakers didn't work well, the cone bottomed out and would cause the speaker to short, which caused all the other speakers to cut out as well, bumping my dashboard would have it work again but any bass would cause it to fail. I managed to make this speaker work with no bass and the other worked fine for the first month then died all together. These speakers are still in my car but barely work. Not upset about the lost money, but wouldn't reccomend to anyone. Side note, the cutting out problem happened right out of the box, due to the low cost and time it would take to send them back I never bothered disputing it. These speakers are not hooked up to an AMP, directly to the head unit and the one that did work, didn't sound bad but did not last long. Buyer beware! Update: Decided to contact the company as the speaker that was bottoming out decided to fail all together and the one good speaker blew out randomly. Upon removing the speakers from the car I noticed that the tweeters came loose as well, TERRIBLE quality for something less than a year old. I contacted the company earlier in the week and have yet to receive any word from them. I highly suggest NOT purchasing this product. I will post a video review of the product later in the week showing the poor quality of these items. Update #2: I just got an email that someone found this review helpful so I will update again. The company never responded to my requests via e-mail, admittedly I did not try very hard given the cost of the product and my time is more valuable than these speakers but I will attempt to contact them via phone this week. The most they will probably do at this point is offer me replacements, which I would never use given m experience. Both speakers are now out of my vehicle pending replacements, to anyone reading who need 4x6 but Kicker, they make a quality product and the cost won't break the bank. As for these Boss speakers, neither one of them work now, pressing on the cone will cause one to work but as soon as take your hand away it fails. Absolutely horrible product. As another note, these speakers are rated 100 watt RMS, 200 watt max, there is absolutely no way this is possible. My radio handles 50w RMS per channel and I kept the bass real low due to my subs handling the low end in the car. These speakers failed with little to no stress and physically fell apart (tweeters became lose). Save your time and buy a name brand please! I will update one final time when I get in contact with the company.

Boss has a pretty bad reputation. They are generally reviewed to be bottom of the barrel in sound and build quality. So why did I rate them 5 stars? Because they replaced the rear upper speakers in my old 2000 Astro Van. The cones on those were no longer attached to their frame. The resulting rattles were unbearable. I deserved better. These boss speakers were all that and then some. They sound just fine and the price is pretty good too.
