I use my video camera during very cold weather and batteries don't last as long as in warm weather, so I purchased these backup batteries to extend my time that I can use the video in cold weather. They seem as good as the original batteries that came with my Sony Video Camera and were ALOT less expensive.

I was skeptical given many of the negative reviews but I was really desperate for an extra battery with my kid’s upcoming 2 hour performance that is JUST longer than my existing battery can handle, even with a 15 minute charge at intermission. I was looking for an NP-FH40 for my ancient Sony DCR-SR45 really hoped that this would fit the bill since this was the only one I could get within a day. I ordered it last night and it arrived this afternoon and promptly charged it. I just did a test run and am able to record for the hour I need (with 15 minutes or so to spare). I am VERY pleased with the purchase.

My HandyCam is quite old be tech standards, so I didn't really expect to find a replacement battery. This one works perfectly.

I have an older Sony A389 DSLR camera that requires this battery. It started developing an issue where it would simply say the battery was incompatible and the camera would shut off. I tried a few of my batteries and they did they did the same thing. I took a chance and tried this battery and everything and everything worked fine. The battery charges well, holds a charge for a good length of time and most importantly, I can use my camera again.

Bought a camera from the thrift store and unfortunately its battery was shot. Bought this as a replacement, it charged+worked perfectly with my handycam! Any universal charger should work. Did take a while to ship, but could not find it locally at all. Worth the wait :)
