Great product
I love these, I ordered the 12 inch brackets and bought 12 inch pine shelves from lowes and we rounded off the edges and stained them, the 12 inch fit tight but I liked that because I didnt have to worry about the shelves moving. I didnt have to buy any extra hardware, I used a stud finder and all of my brackets are mounted in studs. I would order again!

VERY HAPPY WITH OUR PURCHASE!!!
I have been wanting to do the industrial shelving for quite some time, but I always found it very expensive. I popped in here to Amazon one day and found these industrial looking shelf brackets to be very affordable so I bought a 6 pack of the 12 inch bars.I was so happy with the look and the quality of the bars when they arrived, very quality looking, solid and sturdy. The only complaint my husband had when installing them this afternoon is that the hardware that comes with it SUCKS!!! The screws are complete junk, had the heads of three of them break off while he was screwing them into the studs. The plastic wall anchors they include with the screws are also flimsy junk, so be prepared to get new hardware. We did however, like the clips that were included to attach the bars to the underside of the boards, the sad thing is they did not send enough of them, so I had to go to Ace and pick up a few more and spray paint them black.Overall, We are really, really happy with the project. Our personal recommendation would be that you mount these to a wall stud. This is not because of the product being reviewed, but because common sense says that if you are going to mount any kind of a shelf to a wall that is going to be holding heavy books or dishes that you MUST mount them on all wall stud with long heavy duty screws. So keep this is mind when planning your placement of shelving on the wall.I am considering putting this same style of shelving in the main bathroom and would purchase these same brackets again.

Great brackets!
These are great! I purchased two 2 x 10 x 10’s from a hardware store, sanded, and stained them. They are mounted onto the purchased brackets. My brackets are spaced approximately 48 inches apart and mounted onto studs. 48” is the maximum width you may safely span a board of 2” thick by 10” depth, If you used a 1” board the maximum width would be half that. (24”). It is very important to mount these onto wall studs. Use a stud-finder. Special note, you will need to purchase construction or wood screws to mount the brackets. The ones included are just not appropriate for the task. (They will not drive cleanly into the studs and will strip) if you can’t find black ones, just put a dot of black paint over the screw head after they are up. (I did this) I am going to be adding two and a half more shelves. (I have many books)

Not actual industrial pipe/fittings
These are reproductions of black iron pipe. They are steel, not iron, or they'd be twice as heavy. They are also poorly powdercoated. 3 out of 6 have chips over their entire length and the threads were also powdercoated which made it difficult to thread the pieces together. Also, the tolerances for the threads were low which made it feel wobbly and loose until you really tightened then down with a wrench.Don't bother with the hardware they give you. If you are going to put more than a few pounds of items on the shelf, you need to mount them into studs and use construction grade screws at least 2" long. The screws they provide are brittle and the wall anchors are useless. Not only can wall anchors not support any pulling force from this setup, putting 2-4 holes that size in drywall that close together will break it apart.

Easy install, great product
I installed 3, four foot long shelves to hold our bathroom towels, and everything else that couldn't fit in the bathroom. I used 2 on each and it probably took me 10 minutes to get them installed. I just set the boards on top and turned the end cap down until it basically pinched the shelf to help it stay in place. Haven't had any problems with them, and they are working great many months after installation.

use your own mounting hardware
The lengths of the pipe are exactly as advertised, good finish on them hasn't chipped or anything. The included mounting hardware is faulty and not sufficient for the task. The screw heads break off, and they strip very easily. The wall mount inserts the plastic bits are the lowest price options and the installation reflected this in its aggravation and frustration. I recommend you use mounting hardware that is of better quality and less frustrating.

In all, love!
Okay, 4 stars because I am obsessed with the way my shelves turned out! I opened and inspected, and liked the look overall, but noticed that some of the caps had rough, jagged edges which are really more unsightly than anything. Because of this, I went ahead with installation. My husband, who is a plumber, saw them and was less impressed with them. The only piece to his standards was the piece that is connected to the wall, so we may change out the end caps later as a compromise. Currently, I installed the best looking caps on eye level, and tried to face the unsightly edges out of view.Installation, while tedious, was not complicated. Enough reviews mentioned the quality of the screws that I used toggle bolts for installation instead. Because if this I can’t attest to the quality of the hardware. Also, the screws that came with the set for anchoring the brackets to the shelf were too long for use with my 1 inch board; I assume they would work fine with a 2 inch board, but can’t attest to the quality of those either.I used 10 inch deep boards and they fit great with a small amount of room to spare; the brackets that came with the set to hold the shelves in place work well, though, so I’m not concerned about movement (I used smaller screws for installation). In all, I love them. They look great, and seem sturdy! I decided to order another set for another area in my home. Minus one star for lacking genuine details.
