The story of Fullmetal Alchemist is amazing and the new hard cover editions look incredible

This book is amazing and the pages feel good while reading. After nearly being killed by Scar, Ed and Al realizethat all they have is each other. After going home and getting repairs, Ed and Al follow a clue left to them and try to find the notes left by a researcher who worked for the government. By the end of the book, a small seed of doubt is sowed into Al’s mind. I only have one small nitpick over this book and that’s the small dent in the front of the book. During shipping it received a small dent in the cover and even though it is only on the cover, I was worried about the rest of the book. Fortunately no damage other than that one small bend in the front cover from shipping.

First off, let me say I generally am not a fan of anime or manga and had purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my younger brother. After flipping through it and getting caught up, I borrowed the first from said brother, then read this manga prior to gifting it. The Fullmetal Alchemist anime adaptations (there are two) are good, however they do not compare to the plot and depth of story in the manga. If you are manga fan (or even if you're not, like me) and are looking for a plot revolving around moral right and wrong, love of family, and the lengths we will go to in order to save them, then this is for you. I highly recommend this purchase, and sincerely hope you take the time to read this series some time. If nothing else, binge watch the anime(s) when looking for something different on Netflix :)Note: If you aren't going to read it, the "Brotherhood" adaptation is truer to the manga, I prefer the original adaptation.

Arrived fast and in good condition, Volumes 1 and 2 tend to be out of stock lately but just wait they'll always come back, don't pay more than what it's worth

I am just disappointed. I was looking forward to this item, but when I took it out it was damaged as you see. It'd be a little different if it was a paperback even, but it's not. It's a special edition that costs double the regular version. I don't want to do a return as I've seen and experienced how hectic it can be. With that being said. I'll have to suck it up for the time being with this, and buy one in-store instead.

It was awesome three were surprisingly different ways to show how to tell a comparative historical work. It works well.

I love this series and these books but don’t buy them through Amazon. I ordered the first three books and I’ve had to return all of them as they have come in with some type of damage.

I have to say i am really enjoying this. I am new to Manga but have found this really easy to follow and has captured my attention. I would recommend this series for anyone in my situation who is new and wants to start somewhere. I wont get into the story in this one as i do not want to spoil anyone but i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great manga deserves a hardcover finish like this. I'm glad this edition came out, it's a joy to hold and the pages look very pretty with high contrast blacks on paper with a light sheen. It looks fantastic on the bookshelf too and I look forward to the rest of the volumes. Content-wise it's consistent with the quality of the first volume, story is fast-paced and entertaining.Printed in Canada.

As Elric brothers continue there search for a way to regain their original bodies they meet the `Sewing-Life Alchemist' Shou Tucker a specialist in bio-alchemy but Shou has some terrible secrets of his own. Added to this a serial killer targeting State Alchemists has come to town seeking vengeance.Fullmetal Alchemist takes a darker turn in this second volume with a highly increased body count and some rather dark scenes. The plot is advancing well and the cast of characters grows somewhat in this volume, as well some information on the settings history. The Fullmetal Alchemist manga is an enjoyable read and is improving with every volume.

Fullmetal Alchemist is a legendary manga that i would buy the volumes for anyway, but what makes this release extra special is how beautiful the books are. They are gorgeous. Viz have knocked it out of the park with this release. Cannot wait to get the next one.

This was a Christmas present for my son. He collects Fullmetal Alchemist and this was a missing link so he is very pleased. The cover detail is great, if you like anime.
