Nagash

A great story in the Sigmar story of Warhammer. Even though it is one part of a wider story, it stands alone in its entirety. Interesting to read and had made me want to read all the Warhammer/Sigmar/Chaos Wars in the series. If you like sword and sorcery fantasy, especially tales involving the undead, you will probably like this story.

Great narration

It was a great look into the lives of real people in Shyish. It was also nice to hear a female narrator.

Stellar

Fairly short but delivers the perfect flavor of the armies and characters involved. Outstanding dialogue and a well placed read. Wish every one of these shorter books was this good

Very Amazing Depiction of the Realm of Death and its denizens

This book was a joy to read which I did not expect since it is about the Realm of Death.I had no interest in the Death factions as well as Nagash before I read this book (recommended to me by a friend). By the end of it, I have fallen in love with the intricacies of Shyish and the different people who live there. If you play the tabletop game, you will get a glimpse into ghouls, ghoul king, deathrattle skeleton warriors, the Mortarchs, Nagash, and many other facets of Death.Unexpectedly, Arkhan became one of my favorite characters also. There're a bit of Nurgle followers in the book and they're also portrayed with lots of personality.I strongly recommend this book!

If you want an intro to Shyish and Nagash in Age of Sigmar, this is an excellent place to start.

Another excellent work by Josh Reynolds. It does a very good job at getting across Nagash's personality in these times, both when he’s more lucid and not; the look into the minds of regular Shyish residents is a treat, while the antagonist Nurglites provide a unique contrast to the typical followers of the Plague God without losing their sense of evil. At be same time, necromancy takes on a different tone, some good, some bad The atmosphere is also great at getting across the eeriness and danger of Shyish. For all it’s good, Emma Gregory's narrative performance really stands out. She has a fantastic grasp of voices both male and female.

Great narration, excellent use of multiple perspectives.

Like the way it bounced from Blightkings, Living Nagash Worshippers, and the Mortarchs for a more holistic view of Nagash and Death in Age of Sigmar.
