Not a "new" style, but a really great pant.
This is a repeat purchase. These pants are everything they claim to be. Easy on and off with ankle zippers. I have worn this brand over the years as a cold winter running pant in Minnesota with temps as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. They do, indeed, block the wind and keep me dry during snowstorms. I have also worn them for cooler weather hiking in the spring and fall, along with winter hiking and cross country skiing. If there is a cutting wind or wetter weather, I have also layered a rain pant over them. This also works for ice fishing. I wear a size Small Long at 125 pounds 5 foot 6 inches. The length is really borderline for me. I like to wear at least a 31 inch inseam.

Winter Wonders
My sixth pair of SportHill XC pants (over a 30 year span) just arrived and I was thrilled to see that the great quality has been maintained. I keep 3 pairs that I truly live in all winter - skiing, hiking, walking the dog, running errands, and out to eat. The fabric is AMAZING - comfortable, warm, water resistant, and lasts for YEARS. The zippered pockets are great for stashing keys, dog treats, or other must-haves during outdoor activities. The lower leg zippers are great for on/off over boots and the zippers themselves last forever. Can you tell these are my favorite pants of all time???

Great for cross-country skiing
Overall, I'm happy with these pants. I bought them for cross-country skiing. I wore them on a sunny day about 32 degrees with a thermal base layer underneath and I was too hot at a moderately aerobic pace. I think these pants would have been perfect without the thermals. I'm 5'4", 135 lbs, athletic build, so I bought the size medium to make sure they wouldn't be too tight. The fit is very comfortable, just roomy enough without being baggy. The rise is a little higher than I would normally wear and the waistband is very thick. The pants have a very durable feel to them and the weave is tight enough to offer some protection from the wind but they are still super stretchy and don't bind anywhere during exercise. If I had to list any cons, I would say that the fit is not very flattering and I wouldn't wear these anywhere except for skiing. For the price, I would like to be able to wear them more than a few times a year, but on the other hand they'll last forever!

Not the same pants - style change is horrible
I have two pair of the sport Hill traverse II cross-country ski pants. I was hoping to order more because I love those pants for skiing, snowshoeing or snow tubing. They’re great at blocking the wind, plus they’re warm enough without being too warm and super comfortable. However, the new styles fit horribly. I guess if you have really big thighs and a big butt they’re fine but otherwise they don’t fit well so I returned them and had to order other brands. I wish I could find the older style of the Traverse 2 pants.

Pants are fine. Packaging smelled like Pot.
Amazon packaging smelled like Pot. Luckily, the inner package and the pants were fine. First time that has ever happen with something delivered from Amazon. I immediately threw the packaging out in the trash.

Comfy fit - great to have a petite option for short/rounder girls!
I'm a short person; about 5" tall and weigh 165, so I have thicker thighs and short legs. I was excited to find these pants came in petites for us short girls, but only up to size large petite and I usually wear an extra large petite or 0X. So, I took a chance and ordered a Large Petite and an Xlarger Regular for comparison. I was shocked, but the large petite fit great and the extra large regular were too long waisted, as I expected, but also very a little baggy in the seat/legs. Thank you to the other reviewers who stated they ran big in the seat and legs, otherwise I would not have even tried to order the large petite. Now, I don't like that they hug my legs but just know that when I say hug, I don't mean tight at all. I just don't think close fitting clothes are a great look for me but I plan to wear a little longer wind jacket and I'll be more comfortable.. These pants are so comfy, I can easily move for any activitiy and hope to try them out soon cross country skiing. Also, the petite length is still about 3" too long for me, but I'm used to that and just plan to roll them under or shorten them myself. The regular size ran about 4" longer than the petite. Love my purchase!

The most comfortable & effective pants for hiking EVER!
I've been hiking 10-15 miles/week with my dog for 10 years, in all kinds of weather, down to around 15°F (we don't often hike when it's below that.) I bought these pants for this winter season hoping for something that would eliminate the need for heavy layers. This is the best pair of pants I've ever worn for our daily hikes. I wear them alone from about 30° - 45°, & add a pair of "silk" long underwear when it's below 30°. They allow totally urestricted movement, a must for the trails we hike. If it's raining or snowing very hard, I'll wear a pair of unlined nylon wind/water proof pants over them for added protection. No more hiking in so many bulky layers I can't bend over or climb! And sometimes I wear them to go shopping on a cold windy day, just because I can! Worth every penny. I highly recommend these pants.

Sporthill Women's XC Pant...Medium/Black
I love this XC woman's pant. It's my THIRD pair, and the other two aren't worn out, just wanted another pair! LOVE the zip ankle for snowshoes and putting knee socks on. Soft on the inside. Only downside is WAITING and waiting for them to arrive. So start early if you want these for an occasion. Also, they run large, unless you pile on under armour. I prefer to wear nothing under these. Very warm, and comfortable. Water repellant for everything I have worn them for.
