I just got the book today. I like the books content however the book I received right away fell apart. The binding must be very cheap. Probably I will complain and see if they have this book in a version that doesn't fall apart. I bought the book to see if it will have some good ideas to start teaching my son, who is in grade 6, some basic ideas about trig and some of the applications. The book is in a format where the teacher is in a dialog with the student.. Not everyone may like this sort of approach but maybe it is good for the lower grade student. But there is enough meat in the book. One thing is that Amazon always has an excellent return policy in cases such as this. So hopefully they have a more sturdy version of this book. UPDATE: I received a new copy of the book within just a few days and this time there was no problem with the book. I am always impressed with the good return policy from Amazon. I ca't totally evaluate the contents since I have to read the whole book first. I have 4 books in the series though.

The basics of trigonometry are very smartly taught: a beginner can master them within a half-hour.The problems at the end of each chapter, though, require even beginners to have previous experience of trigonometric problem solving. I expect that many readers will struggle to understand the problem.If there is a next edition, either make the problems slightly less difficult in the first chapters, or provide some form of guidance.
