Perfect 'Work From Home' Macbook Pro USB-C Productivity Monitor - 49 inch
Summary: No issues for me at all. Multi-tasking heaven. High-quality screen resolution and easy to setup. Stop your search and just buy this! This review is for the 49 inch LG 49WL95C-W. You can read the tech specs everywhere but this a review for the person working from home and wanting to know in plain English if this is a great monitor. Answer: YES!! Easy setup: This monitor is absolutely perfect for Macbook Pro users like myself. The monitor came with a USB-C cable (among many other cable types). Out of the box, connecting the stand and mounting the monitor to it was a breeze. Then it's literally two cables: one to power the monitor into the wall and then the USB-C to connect the laptop. (The monitor will charge your laptop). After reading that some users were having issues with the screen flickering/blacking out while I was researching, I was sure to immediately go to the LG support page to download any firmware updates. I've had this for a week now and I haven't had a single issue. Don't let any negative reviews deter you. The final step was to adjust the display resolution under system preferences on my laptop, then everything looked even better than I was expecting. The monitor itself gives you some settings for further customization, but I spent a minimal amount of time messing with that. It's just a small push knob on the back panel towards the right side.. very easy to use. The whole process from opening the box to being completely up and running was just a few minutes and I found it to be easy and I think most others would too. High-Quality Screen Resolution: To me, the 5120 x 1440 screen resolution gives a very similar picture quality to my laptop's display. It's obviously unrealistic to have it look better than the laptop considering there's MUCH more real estate to work with, but I'm VERY pleased with the quality. I can watch 4k videos on YouTube and I think it looks fantastic. Text is also crisp. The resolution just everything 99% of people will ever need for work, browsing the web, or any common productivity tasks. To organize your windows, LG's OnScreen Control (that you can download from LG's website) allows you to split the screen in a variety of ways. I like using the 3 screen split, but you can split it up to 8 screens. I know people are talking about 3rd party software for more screen splitting customization, but I haven't tried that. I like splitting the screen vertically into thirds. This way, each of the 3 screens is a little bigger than the size of my 15 inch laptop screen, and I have 3 windows side by side, all looking incredible. It's easy to switch between layouts and move windows around. It just solves so many annoying problems that I used to have with tiling windows behind each other. No more! Sound: The monitor itself has speakers as well as a port for your headphones. Audiophiles probably wouldn't be salivating over it, but I think it sounds decent. I would still give the edge to my 2018 Macbook Pro speakers, but I just use headphones most of the time anyway. Just buy separate speakers if top-quality sound is super important to you. Conclusion: I bought this monitor because I'm working from home as a software developer and I need to multi-task with several programs visible at the same time. This is absolutely everything I was hoping for and more! The screen is large and wide, but not obnoxiously so. The quality is excellent and I have no issues. Zero dead pixels, no flicker or black out issues. Working from home is now so much more convenient and enjoyable, that's really the bottom line. I can imagine this would be the perfect monitor for stock traders as well who are looking to analyze several charts simultaneously. I'm not a gamer, so I can't speak to that at all regarding refresh rates, but for work or regular internet use, 60Hz is definitely all you need. If you can afford it, go for it!! This monitor is quality and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. My girlfriend jokes that I won't spend time with her in the evenings as much anymore because of this thing. Haha, she's not entirely wrong.

Wow .... Just WOW
The 2nd update , thanks to Amazon custmer service they agree to return the monitor a refund me the full price … amazing Amazon .. I ended up buying the same monitor again but the Bussuniss version of it. It still wow me everyday . An update .... after 3 months, the Monitor stop working, screen has no data ..... tried everything with no hope. LG Custmer support is the worst... no response at all. Be aware that this monitor has a factory problem clearly and LG knows about it and won't admit for refund or replacement . Dont buy this product !!! I am stuck with a $1600 paper weight ... 3 First Review ......Just Wow, very crisp screen, amble of space ...very attractive curve and usb-c ... how one can miss admire that. I have a MacBook pro as my desktop/ laptop configuration ... and this screen it is just massive, impressive, HQ product that provide you with two 27" screen side by side in a great look curved configuration with a sleek base that you can hardly notice.

Fantastic Productivity Monitor
I am not a gamer so I can't comment on that, but I am delighted with this as a productive monitor. I do a lot of research with a lot of windows open and this gives me the real estate I have always wanted. It was plug-and-play for me out of the box. Here are the details of my setup (pictured above) in case it helps people sort out compatibility concerns. I have a base model 14" M1 MacBook Pro. I connect it with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable to a CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 Dock. The dock is then connected to the monitor via a very good 8K Display Port Cable. This gave me full-resolution video, audio, and data to all of the monitor ports. It all worked from the first moment I turned it on. I have been using it for several days now and everything is perfect. The shallow curve is great for me but would probably make a gamer crazy. It wasn't cheap, but I make my living with this thing. Could not be happier.

I am an AV display professional and have had hundreds of screens, led panels, 4k screens, name it, in the past 15 years. I can say this is the single coolest display I have ever owned. Wanted to upgrade my work and editing computer from 2 Asus 24" monitors to something big. The 34-inch 21:9 monitors seemed just a bit small to me. THIS THING is massive, be warned! The image and finish is just sublime (watch out its fragile however, you can scratch the base easily). Love the adjustment too for height, pivot and tilt its very fluid. Since I have had it I just can't wait to go to my office and this screen daily, it's made my work so enjoyable. Colour is very accurate, sound is ok but prefer my set of speakers to it, but decent if you don't have any. Biggest problem with a screen like is that you've been spoiled for life, you can never go back!

This thing is monstrous. I play a lot of racing sims, which are incredible with this screen but I also work in the CGI industry and this monitor was fantastic for my Work From Home setup. The colour is very good, I felt I didn't have to adapt from switching from my work monitor which is a production-grade colour monitor. At 5120×1440, my once cluttered desktop is now packed into a tiny corner on the left. I am currently working on high resolution stills and I can pack them in at their near full resolution to do comparisons. Sometimes I am working with 3 different software at the same time, plus browsers for organization. So far this has been superior to dual monitor workflow once you get used to it. The curve on this monitor is subtle, it is less designed for surrounding you and more so does a good job at preventing glancing angle glare, and almost flattening the perspective. Had this been a flat monitor, things on the edges of the screen would just be awkward. For games, this is both amazing but with some interesting flaws depending on what you play: -Racing and Flight sims are an absolute dream, I use trackIR which works even better with this as you are not moving your eyes awkwardly as much to keep them centre screen. Mirrors in cars are always visible instead of having to turn your head. Keeping track of cars on both sides of you in a 3-wide situation has never been easier. -First person games have some issues, this comes down to how a game renders the camera. Your edges are drastically skewed, but when you are focusing on the centre of the screen, it actually works very well with your peripheral vision. I don't play many first person games, however so I dont have a full review for that. -Orthographic Strategy games: if the game supports this resolution and aspect ratio, you basically have a god-level of observation. However, UI elements may be off to the left or right, and if you are not able to scale or drag windows off the left or right of the screen, you will find yourself leaning over a lot to read things. At the same time, strategy games that tend to be cluttered with lots of windows are much cleaner in the main space of your screen. I've been playing stellaris on this monitor and once I got used to where things are off to the side, I don't think I could go back a regular monitor. Overall I love this monitor, it is absolutely beautiful and a worthy investment. It is shockingly large and gets quite a bit of attention when guests come over. Pixel density is super clean, mounting system is sturdy, height adjustment has a good range. The matte finish is much better than my previous shiny curved monitor which had projected weird holograms of my reflection. Due to the matte finish, glare is much less of a problem, expect the normal kind of glare you would get if the sun was shining into your room mid-day but much less so than shiny monitors. Assembly was easy. Take note that you must use display ports instead of HDMI if you want the full 5120×1440. Speakers are a welcome addition, they aren't the best but useful if you are on a headphones only setup as I was, and would like to just throw on youtube with a friend. Streamers take note: This monitor is great for gaming, however you will need to trim the edges off your capture so that it fits the standards of a 16:9 stream. Most of your viewers likely do not enjoy watching 32:9 video on their standard monitor. I have been doing this fine, however some games will lose the UI on the sides. For racing it just looks like a normal game res for viewers while you personally see about a foot extra on both sides of the monitor. I don't consider this a flaw, but take this into account when looking into Ultrawide monitors if you stream your games.

Really good monitor. It's expensive, yes, but it's crisp and clear and works well with my new gaming rig, quite a few games support the massive resolution and they look amazing. For work, I have 6 different apps all visible at the same time, sure I could do it with 2 monitors (I did it before) but this is just a little bit more room due to 1440 resolution (Compared to 1080) and again...no bezel. I haven't gotten one yet, but I recommend a mount to put the monitor on the wall behind the desk to eliminate the stand, it's a nice stand but would be nice not to use up the space on the desk.
