Top of the line Steak
I had the BEST STEAK TACOS in my entire life. The meat just melted in my mouth with tons of flavor and juiciness. I would def buy this again, and most certainly make them into tacos.

Product was delayed an extra day and the steaks were still frozen. Good job.

Funny calling this Butcher's choice, because no self respecting butcher would choose these filets
So far so good. Meat arrived from Chicago (to CA) in record. Everything was in a large white styrofoam box with plenty of dry ice inside. I opened the lid and used an IR thermometer to check the temp - between 0 and 22 degrees F. Everything was frozen rock solid and nicely sealed. Only one filet looked like the plastic had been pierced open with a small hole (my guess is from the edge of the dry ice or something) - not a big deal.I'll follow up with a further update once we try the burger patties and the steaks. Usually we buy our meat fresh and only from Whole Foods or from local farms, so this will be an interesting test.FOLLOW UP:Okay, here's the initial low down:1. The burgers were pretty good. I would say it's one of the better frozen burger patty I have ever had. If you have ever had the frozen patties from Costco, then these are maybe a step above. I wouldn't say they are amazing, but they are pretty respectable. Based on the positive experience, I went directly to the Chicago Steak website and ordered some of their Wagyu burgers and higher grade filets.2. The filets included in this package weren't all that great. I mean, they are okay, but not the most tender filet I've ever come across. They also had a fairly gamey flavor. Now, with that said, let me mention that I live in California, where we have the happy cows. Also, the filets I usually cook generally only come from Whole Foods, where the meat is super high quality and never frozen. The Chicago Filets were edible, but they were noticeably tougher than any filet I've ever had before.Would I buy steaks from Chicago Steak company again? Well, I'm not sure. I'm going to wait until we receive our 2nd order directly from the company and then I'll be back with a further update. I don't know if going via Amazon resulted in some sort of "special selection of meats just for amazon" or not. However, as mentioned, I was a bit taken back at how tough the filets were. Given that filet is generally the most tender part of the entire cow, I'd sure hate to eat any other cut off meat from these same animals.More to follow soon... for now 3 stars.Okay, FINAL UPDATE - down to 2 stars:After eating all but 1 or 2 of the pieces of frozen meat in this pack - and also emailing with the company for further details on what grade of meat this is - I have come to find out this is actually USDA Select. Blah. That's the lowest grade you find at super markets. Had I known this was select grade beef from the get-go, I wouldn't have wasted my time ordering it. Calling it "Butcher's choice" is a bit deceptive in my opinion. The Filets are tough and have a strange after taste; no matter what cooking/frying methods we tried, they always came out subpar in my opinion. This is the first time in my life I have ever dumped any part of a Filet Mignon into the trash and not bothered to finish all of the steak on my plate. So yeah...The burger patties are okay for making them into taco meat, but beyond that, not much else.My recommendation is go directly to the company's website and order their higher grades of meat (either USDA Prime or their upper 1/3rd choice). These "butcher's choice" filets are largely a waste of time and money. Freezing them, even flash frozen and vacuum sealed, doesn't help matters. I have also ordered this company's higher grades of meat directly from their website, but spending $120 on this USDA select beef was a big disappointment and basically a waste of money on beef which barely was worth eating.NOTE: The higher grade meats, available directly from this company's website, are actually very, very good. This review is only relative to this lower grade Butcher's Choice (USDA select grade beef) stuff, which is pretty low quality meat. However, I've also ordered the higher grade USDA choice (one step below USDA Prime) as well as their American cross-bread Wagyu meets from the company's website and - even frozen - I have to say it's up there with some of the best beef I've ever had. Avoid this butchers choice package and go directly to the website and get on their promotion email list - they routinely have great package deals which work out to around a 40 to 50% reduction in overall price.

Not worth the money!
I sent this to my parents for Christmas. They said that the meat didn't have flavor and the burgers shrunk significantly. Better off just buying at the local meat market:/
