beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 ohm Studio Headphones (Ninja Black, Limited Edition) with 4-Channel Headphone Amplifier Bundle (2 Items)

I love music but I'm not an Audiophile. I've always just settled for the $100 gaming headset because "Whatever". These things completely change everything about how music/games/movies sound. I've certainly been missing out and these headphones are 100% worth every penny. I was initially unimpressed with the build durability, but after having them in my hands long enough, they are definitely a VERY sturdy pair of headphones.Tips:- Let them wear in, took a few hours to get comfortable.- Don't turn up the Amplifier to 100%. (I found my MAX slightly uncomfortable volume with Windows volume at 100%, Amp dial is at 60-70% and I just dial down on my PC volume(Currently my Windows volume is at 36%(YouTube/Movies), super loud, game at like 60% and can hear everything, spacial sound is excellent(CSGO, EFT)). I think the amplifier complaints are people who turned their amp up to 100% and probably blew their headset, or maybe even their eardrums... Build quality on the amp is fantastic, likely pushing enough power to blow your headset so don't go ham).Cons:- Not comfortable at first. They are light, which is good, but the padding around the ears is pretty stiff when new. I've used them for about 100hrs now and they are starting to mold to my head and feel much better.- Shipment comes with 5 1/8" female to 1/4" male adaptors, but no 1/4" female to 1/8" male. You don't really want to go lower on the male end, because of the voltage required to push audio to these headphones, but it would be nice to have just in case the Amplifier decided to stop working.- By design, these headphones are NOT noise cancelling, not really a con, but a note if you are looking to silence your background noise. I can hear the kids like I'm not even wearing headphones at all.

UPDATE - 15 Months later - Still going strong, still the best headphones I have ever owned. Never had a single issue with them. Sound is still crisp and clear. I am constantly hearing things in video games that others dont hear. Maybe they have bad headphones, or maybe these are just amazing. I have never been able to track players by sound as easily as I do with these. I LOVE THESE and will buy another pair, if something ever happens to these.-----------------------------------Using these headphones is a joy.I have had zero issues with them since I hooked them up, they sound better than anything Ive ever had, and I can hear noises in video games that I could not hear before.Very comfortable. If you want noise cancelling, open-back is not what you need though. With these and other open-back headphones, sound bleeds out and in very easily. So you can hear things going on around you, and anyone around you can hear the headphones to a certain degree.Very happy with this purchase, will update if I have future issues.

BeyerDynamics is known for their sturdy headphones. They are one of the only audiophile companies that offer multiple choices of ohm impedance. After a month or two of researching and watching videos I went with the BeyerDynamics dt990 Pros (250ohm) version, which are open back headphones, for my gaming setup. I decided to try out the amplifier too for giggles. I ended up deciding on a different amplifier.The headphones on the other hand were a night and day difference compared to my gaming "Astro A20s" I had before. The lows are definitely not bass, but do hit when appropriate and they sound good. The mids are a nice balance with clearity across the board. The bright treble is the REASON WHAY IM RETURNING. They are just to bright for me. There's a mixture rumor of " burning " them in, but that takes a bit. And there's no 100% certainty. If you have sensitive ears I wouldn't go for these. I would try out the (80ohm) Version.Great product! Beautiful classic looking design and quality! Recommend!

Headphones by themselves are 5-star. Overall a great set of headphones for pretty much everything. Better than my old Hyper X Cloud 2(3?) which were at a similar price range at one point, so better than any "gaming" headphones you can get audio quality-wise. It was a bit quieter than my hyper x, but I was hoping the AMP solved that. 4 stars since the AMP ONLY has the power adapter and amp. This means it's missing the 1/4 connect to the headphone jack cord, which is an odd thing to skip out on. Don't actually know the quality of the amp itself because of this, had to spend about 10 bucks on a cord for it.

I bought these purely on watching on of the streamer I watch uses them and by far they feel and sound better than anything else I have owned. Right off the bat I was concerned with the headphone amp. And I would be correct. At about a hour of game play my sound output would drop out to nothing but static. It was the onboard sound chip freaking out due to the amp . Also when plugging into it there is a audible pop and then at higher volumes a distinct humming noise. I unplugged the amp and I am going to toss it in the trash! I dont want to have to warranty out a Z690 board due to a cheap amp. Save some cash and buy them with out the garbage amp.

Thes headphones are great I’ve loved them since out of the box, the amp is good quality too nice heavy metal and the rubber feet keep it firm on my glass workstation. The headphones sound amazing and are great quality and it even came with the TRS plug in wire with changeable tips to 3.5mm… this is a great pair idc what the other folks onHere say the value is perfect. I’ll keep you updated if I have any issues but so far, lovin my first day the sound on these is so distinctly different from my Sony MDRs it willDefinately help me get a better angle on my productions. Also sounds great for gaming 👌🏼

I love these DT990s, but after a week or two the amp started buzzing like hell.
