Q: Are the plastic parts b.p.a.-free?

Not sure, but I don’t recommend this sprayer. The threads are very short and the top comes off easily even while spraying.

Q: Will olive oil come out as a mist with this?

No, the oil just shoots out in a heavy liquid spray, i thought it would be a mist as well, but it is NOT!

Q: I got one that came out in a stream too! Can anyone recommend one that truly mists and sprays?

Mine just squirts a steady stream with olive oil also. It also squirts a stream with just water. Sorry I can't be more of a help.
