Well written, easy template to customize for my needs, great info and no fluff!
If you are officiating a wedding for the first time, this is the only book you need. I used this book to plan, organize and carry out officiating a wedding for some friends. It was exactly what I needed! Very well written and formatted. Deep information delivered quickly without any fluff, and enjoyable to read. There is also a step by step template in the book that is easy to customize for your own needs.

My one and only ceremony was completed with many tears, some complements and no regrets!
The guidance in this book was outstanding. I officiated my son's wedding and thanks to this book, I felt well prepared and not nervous at all. I followed the sequence recommended, omitting a few things that didn't pertain to our particular circumstance. My only slight regret is that I had to pause twice when I got a little choked up, but that only added to the memory that their officiant was emotionally engaged. :)Covid-19 will be over soon and one of our fond memories will be this pandemic wedding with the groom's father officiating.

PERFECT!
I bought this book because I was asked to be ordained to officiate a wedding less than two months out and this book gave me EVERY SINGLE THING I needed to do it successfully. I would give this 100 stars if I could--she covers every aspect, every type of union/wedding/commitment ceremony, great tips, great stories, and I would recommend this book to ANY officiant, but definitely for a first-timer, last-minute officiant like me!

Very Practical Guide and Overview
I am officiating my sisters wedding in about six months and I thought this book gave a great overview and encouragement for first time celebrants. Officiating seems like a daunting task but this book does a great job of outlining the different planning phases and walks you through a traditional western ceremony. There are also “common sense” tips that I felt were great to have reinforced. Now I won’t be in danger of trying to steal the ceremony and ruining it for the couple and everyone else. It seems like much of the role of the officiant is to keep things progressing in an orderly fashion and otherwise staying out of the way!I would definitely recommend this to other first time officiants. I’m still nervous but this book gives me a very good blueprint for the next few months of planning the ceremony.

Great for new officiants
I was recently asked to officiate a wedding for two friends. I had never done this before, and as I perused the internet for some info, I came across this book. It is the perfect place to start if you are new to this, as I was. It offers some insight on the ordination/deputization process, and then it will walk you through the types of ceremonies, the types of officiants, your role in all aspects of the wedding (pre-wedding, on the wedding day, and post-wedding). It also gives you ideas to make the ceremony unique and special. It should be noted that this does not have a full script or anything of the sort, although it does contain samples of phrases/greetings/etc that you can use at various points in the ceremony. If you are looking for more ideas for readings or scripts, it does provide some additional sources. I highly recommend for any new wedding officiant .

First time officiant
I loved this guide. I am a first time officiant, but I had no idea about the sequence of events or what my full responsibilities would be. I felt this guide did a great job of explaining the ceremonial events and how to discuss them with the couple. It gives a variety of suggestions and is simple and fun to read. I was able to read the book and prepare for my first interview in just a few hours. Recommend!!

so it was a quick read and a great way to begin the research an officiant's duties and ...
This book was just what I needed! The thing that I found most helpful were the tips from the author's own experience about how to conduct the interview with the couple, writing the script, the officiant's role in a ceremony rehearsal, and things to think about that a person who has never assumed the role of officiant before would probably overlook. The book wasn't incredibly dense with detail, so it was a quick read and a great way to begin the research an officiant's duties and areas of responsibility. It definitely made me more confident in assuming the role.

Great little book
Great little book. It will help with planning to put together a ceremony. There is nothing about writing, I guess when they wrote writing they meant creating a ceremony. I liked the little stories from other Officiant's.
