Remo FA1522-00 22-Inch Fiberskyn 3 Ambassador Bass Drum Head

I purchased the 26 inch Remo Fiberskyn 3 Ambassador to use as a front reso head. I am extremely satisfied with the way it looks and sounds, in fact it sounds even better than what I was expecting. I added a 5" port hole with a Kickport and it sounds amazing. Lots of low end punch and a very deep tone. I have also had a lot of compliments on how great it looks and sounds on my kit, it gives the kit a very nice vintage look, which is what I was striving for. I would highly recommend this head to anybody that wants their bass drum to look and sound great. I am including a photo of the finished product to show how great it makes my kit look.

I got this head almost purely for looks. I am really used to using Evans EQ3 reso heads for bass drums, but they only come in black (maybe white too), but not this nice faded color. I was worried about the sound being really different from the EQ3, but really it is pretty similar. I keep minimum tension on it, and it sounds great. It might be slightly warmer than the EQ3, but I actually like the tone. I feel like it matches the warmness of my low tuned toms. Oh, did I mention it looks great?! Only downside, but still not worthy of taking away a star, is that none of them come with a mic / port hole! I wish I could buy it pre-cut! Oh well, just bought a $15 hole cutter so I can do it whenever I want. Was really easy, don't be scared! But DO NOT try and just do it with an exact-o knife or something silly like that, get an actual hole cutter!

I have this installed on my Mapex Mars 22” Kick as the Reso and have an Aquarian SKII on the Batter. No muffling it sounds amazing, the kick is so prominent now that my toms resonant with every kick hit! I would give it 5 stars but it seems to be hit or miss when it comes to it being in stock…

Aquarian Drumheads SKII22 Super-Kick II Double Ply 22-inch Bass Drum Head This is to date, my all time favorite kick drum head. Paired with the Superkick II, this thing sounds fantastic. Has a slight vintage feel but keeps a heavy dark edge. Makes the kick a little more defiant. Plus, its partially opaque so you can light it from the inside (I'll add pics once I'm done writing this). From what I can tell, unless the Fiberskyn tech improves somehow, I'll be buying these for as long as I need them. Perfect.

Its a Remo head, looks like calfskin, sounds awesome. Great reso head. Really complements my kits vintage marine pearl wrap.

I'm not much of a drummer and I play a cheap kit, but I've been trying to get more of a vintage sound out of it for some recordings. I previously put these heads on all of the toms and like the attack and controlled ring that I get from them. I just put this head on the kick drum and now it sounds more like an old fashioned bass drum with a deep tone and just a bit of ringing.

It gives a nice, clean, clear, thump at all volumes. Great feal and feedback.

Its a really warm sound. And it looks great! It gives it kind of a vintage look.

Love it. Looks soooooooo much better than cheep plastic and sounds better. Nice soft thud... would tell friend to do same... enjoy.
