LD Carlson Maltodextrin is a 1 lb corn-derived additive designed to enhance beer body, head retention, and mouthfeel without affecting flavor or alcohol content. Ideal for homebrewers, it’s best added in the last 15 minutes of a 5-gallon boil, with recommended usage between 4-10 ounces.

Superb mouth feel....
I purchased this to give my homemade meads and beers more of a mouth feel. It absolutely works! It's an item that will be regularly stocked in my arsenal of ingredients. Definitely worth trying....

Great for adding body to homebrewed beer!
I'm a homebrewer and sometimes my beers don't finish with quite the right mouthfeel. I use a little of this (8 - 10 grams/5 gallons) in the finished beer (right before packaging,) to add just a little more body without adding any flavor. It also seems to help with head retention, but I wouldn't swear to it. You can also add it during the last part of the boil, but if you do, you'll need to add a significantly larger amount.

I used this in combination with equal measurements ot hot water and vegetable oil to make a non-toxic pesticide against gypsy moth caterpillars, and it works! Last year they stripped all our maple and apple trees, wisteria, grapes, and cherry tree to nothing, this year, I got them early and have minimized the damage considerably. A pressurized garden sprayer might be better to reach taller tree leaves and branchesI simply dissolved the maltodextrin in hot water, added the oil and blended until well mixed. in a spray bottle, drench the caterpillars, moths and egg sacs and it seals their breathing spirules and they die quickly. Shake often as you spray.

Very basic ingredient, did the job
The packaging is thin plastic and seems like it would burst if dropped and the directions/info on the package is minimal. If you use it during bottling beware it clumps very badly and requires a lot of stirring at a stage where you want to avoid too much oxygenation. Overall it seemed to work and provided some head retention on a beer I only used rice solids and a specialty honey for. It may have been user error, maybe I was supposed to dilute it and make a slurry before adding to the bottling bucket.

Maybe a fluke?
Bag had a tear in the bottom corner and was everywhere inside the box when I received it.

Five stars
I use this to add body to homebrew. It works well with porters and IPA's when I am brewing all grain and need extra body in a grew

Great for head retention and added body to mead, cider, beer.
Handy to add head retention and body to beers, meads and ciders. Just be careful adding to a carbonated beverage, as it will form a lot when mixed. Is not fermentable and has minimal sweetness perception.

I like it as part of my after workout drink
I like it as part of my after workout drink, mixed with Carbo Gain (Dextrose).mixes really well with water, its actually unnoticeable, and I add non sugar flavors to the water bottle to perk it up..my favorites are "Crystal Lights", small gripe, very small bag compared to Carbo Gain.
