does this printer have networking capability all I can see is the USB in the front ?

We use this daily in the Federal Government. It's networked to a main network of thousands of computers (any computer from the network can use it). I print approximately 200 pages a day on it. The toner also lasts for many months. Print's quick too.

Does this printer go into sleep mode when not in use? I need it to stay on, even if it is not used overnight.

This is something you can control from the setting menu for your system to stay up all the time.
