My new favorite
I smelled this on a co-worker and decided to give it a try for myself. It was inexpensive enough that if I didn't like it, at least I know someone who does! I was NOT disappointed!! The fragrance lasted ALL DAY. I got several compliments on it and I, myself really enjoyed it! It is noticeable, but not strong. It has a clean, warm scent that carries and follows. Absolutely no regrets!

The product I received was not the eau de toilette ...
I am disappointed that the product I received was not the eau de toilette (as listed) which I prefer, it was the eau de parfum. I've been wearing this fragrance for years and tried both versions; the way it works with my skin is the eau de toilette has more of the sweet strawberry top note and the scent carries around me and lasts longer. Eau de parfum has less alcohol so it does not evaporate into the air as much, the scent stays closer to the skin so I have to put my nose to my wrist to really smell it. It also smells a bit different, with the deeper notes more prominent. Still, one of my favorite scents either way and an excellent price.

Delicately feminine (whatever that means)
I have trouble with the right words to describe things that are masculine or feminine as in today's world these words seem archaic and even offensive. I'm a male who has recently grown to enjoy things that are not traditionally considered masculine or marketed as being for men. That includes fragrances. My dad was an Old Spice guy all his life and I tended toward spicy/musky scents in deodorant (Old Spice original scent), cologne (Dior Homme), and even candles and incense. In the last few years I have broadened my perspectives on gender and what constitutes male/female or masculine/feminine. Where I am at now is if I like the way something looks, smells, or feels, I no longer care whether it is marketed for a specific group.Sorry to drone on, but as it relates to Hanae Mori By Hanae Mori For Women. Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 Ounces, I just like the scent very much and don't care that it is marketed as a woman's fragrance. I still wear Dior Homme as my go to fragrance but do occasionally spray a bit of this on as well for variety.

This is the real deal!
A friend of mine gave me a bunch of samples of Hanae Mori Butterfly EDT about 8 years ago. I fell in love immediately with the soft sweet warm notes, but as a poor college student once my samples ran out I was SOL. Eventually with time I forgot about this fragrance until last Christmas when I happened across the rollerball at Macy's. I promptly purchased but couldn't find the full size in store once the purse size ran out. Enter Amazon. I took the chance and while I was nervous and had my doubts, after reassurance from other buyers I clicked purchase. I have no idea how the 3.4 oz can be $30 here and $116 in all the big stores but this is the real deal. I have a very sensitive nose that can tell minute difference in scent and this smells precisely like my rollerball. I purchased through Amazon and received it in perfect condition 2 days later. The scent is soft warm and sweet. Not overly complex with a blend of berry and praline that give the impression of a vanilla scent, as it's supposed to. But it's not as deep as vanilla. Even the EDT lasts ridiculously long on the skin. I can apply it on my pulse points at 9am and still smell it lightly at 6 pm. But the scent while lingering and projecting, isn't overwhelming and strong. It's perfectly acceptable for the young woman in the workplace or college.
