Sylvania SRCD243 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Radio, Boombox (Silver)

The Sylvania SRCDPortable CD Player with AM/FM Radio has very good quality sound on radio and CD player. Love the small size of it as well. Would recommend it to anyone.

Super great .small and sounds perfect!

Despite the warnings in other reviews, I bought this for its simplicity, price point, and charming color. I was particularly excited because it was toted as being CD-R compatible. Initially, I was pleased. The first time, I played a brand new CD, and the player worked great. The second time, I had a far different experience. I put in a different cd. It played the first song. Then, the numbers changed as though it was progressing through the play list, but the disc simply continued to spin with no additional songs playing or sound. I tried 5 more CDs and had the same experience. They would either play one song and spin without playing more or spin without playing at all. These were all purchased CDs. So, I have essentially purchased a radio with a non-working cd player. Needless to say, I wish that I had heeded the reviews and not wasted my money. I plan to contact the company. Horribly disappointed with this product.

Very disappointed. Stopped playing CDs one month after purchase, giving error message "No". The manufacturer's warranty is a whopping 90 days, so I'd better contact them soon to see if they'll do anything to make it right. Edit: CD player started working again, so I've upped my rating. Still doesn't feel very hardy, but it works fine.

We bought Sylvania SRCD243 Portable CD Player with AM/FM Radio, Boombox (Blue) a month agoBought 4/19/16 for my 9 yr old granddaughter to replace her old one. It is next to her bed and is simple to use. She loves it. She listens to CDs when she goes to bed and sometimes when she is playing in her room. It never leaves her nightstand. I don't know what everyone is reviewing and Amazon lumps review for various similar products together but our player is holding up fine. Follow-up: As of June 1, it still works fine. It is very lightweight and it is probably cheaply made. As such, it won't stand up to a lot of banging around. However, it has great sound, very crisp and clear. Radio works better than the last one we had. It doesn't have an antenna on ours. She gets her favorite station on this one without an antenna and couldn't get it on the old player with an antenna.

We got this little stereo for our daughters six birthday, as she is really into music, and we figured giving her a bit of independence was a good idea. She loves it! She uses it practically every day, and is now into the idea of collect of CDs. I wouldn’t think this is the sort of radio you would want to buy for someone over the age of 10-12, but it works fantastically as a gift for kids. Pros: It works well - she’s able to put in and take out her cds no problem, it’s straightforward and to the point like an good CD player should be. It’s also loud! It’s got some decent kick too it, the bass isn’t the best as to be expected, but it works well enough to not be grating and annoying. Also, the built in radio is great - she’s been having fun channel surfing. Cons: Could use a little more bass, but overall for a gift for my little one at the price it is, I’m happy with it.

I know Curtis & Sylvania is a lower budget brand. But usually works pretty well. This is beyond low budget. You would think for almost $40 that it would have a digital tuner. Nope. Small manual tuner that you can only get a few stations due to the small tuner. CD player us garbage quality and ruins your CDs. First CD i put in there scratched it!!! This is a radio/cd player that should be priced no higher than $8.99. What a total rip off. And probably the cheapest quality & worst item I have ever bought off amazon. Oh. I almost forgot. The cord likes to fall out from the back. Oh joy. I already can't wait to throw it in the garbage!!!

Works great. Good and clear sound. Clear radio signal. I mainly wanted it to play some children’s book CDs. It’s very compact and portable. Great deal on discount. Love this. When I ordered it said the estimated ship time was 1-2 months and I hesitated... but it came in 2 weeks!

This little boom box has great sound. It will skip if bumped but otherwise is very good.

I have the identical unit built in 2011, but the CD player failed. I replaced with this one, manufactured in 2024. Basically the same but the older model was better: - Had a bass boost option - Tuning dial was very visible on the top of the unit, showed FM stereo light - Had the same look as shown on the web site, with very visible control buttons. The 2024 version has black plastic control area and you can't easily make out these controls. Obviously, there were some cost reductions over the years that, in my opinion, made the player worse. But for the price, still acceptable.
