Excellent all-in-one printer
I have purchased many printers over the years and have never been this satisfied as I was with this latest HP Laserjet printer which I just bought. It has been about 6 months now and it is still working flawlessly for me. It was really quick to set up on the various laptops I have in the home that are all connected to my router and it worked immediately in all these computers over the network (which I can't say was the same with my previous printers). My setup is a wired network connection from my router to the printer and then all the laptops connect through WiFi to the network. The one thing I love about this printer is how idiot-proof the buttons are to do the copy and fax. For some reason, my earlier printers were unnecessarily complex to do these tasks, especially the fax, but with this printer, just load the papers onto the top feeding tray, punch in the number and hit the green fax button. Simple enough for everyone in my house to use it!The other thing I like about it is that the printer works very quickly out of sleep mode across the network. I can print from any of my laptops in my home and the printout is always waiting for me by the time I get to the printer a few seconds later. I have not had a glitch even once in the six months with network connection problems, jammed papers, etc. Again, this was one of the worst problems I had with my earlier printers where sometimes the printing just doesn't work through the network and I have to go through random combinations of printer restarts, laptop reboots, etc. to make it work.Time will tell I guess if my excellent experience continues but I can safely say it has been working flawlessly for me for the past 6 months and ranks as one of my best overall product purchases recently.

love it
This is exactly what I wanted. We were tired of paying a fortune for ink cartridges. We kept our inkjet for photos, but this baby does the bulk of the work. Set up on a mac is not too bad. If you want an easy time of it make sure you get rid of all HP software from previous printers especially if those printers included a scanner. I set up two macbook pros, one that had no hp software, and one that did. The one that did would not allow me to set up the scanner until I uninstalled the other software.Air Print is awesome. I love being able to print from my iPad and iPhone. There are reviews on here that say the remanufactured cartridges do not work because of some firmware update. I purchased 2 Pack: Compatible HP CE285A Laser Toner Cartridges with no problem whatsoever. Purchased through Amazon and DuraEco Two cartridges for 20 dollars delivered, as opposed to HP 1 cartridge for over $50.

Good but problematic setup on a Mac
This printer works great in letting me print, including air print and google cloud print. Printing is fairly fast and looks quite good. I have a Mac and I was unable to install some of the software on my Mac - specifically that used for google cloud print. After a while wasted trying to figure this out, it looked like the only was for me to install software on a windows computer and set up google cloud print that way. Now everything works. The printer has good features, and an easy to use control panel. Feeding works well.

Adequate printer but constant MISFEED problems with multi pages
I bought this printer a month ago. I had problems connecting with my WiFi until a friend fixed the problem. It's great for printing. Faxing or scanning or copying one page is great on the flatbed. However the feeder is horrible. It is constantly showing a MISFEED error when trying to copy, scan or fax multi-pages!!! It's frustrating.....

Awesome Setup and Product
Within 20 minutes of unpacking my new printer, everything was communicating with my wireless network and I was able to print from any computer (or iPad or iPhone) in the house. No complications, no error messages; just plain good design and exactly what I would expect from HP. Works perfectly with Windows7 and Mac OSX and iOS5. Exactly what I wanted. The ONLY drawback is that there is no automatic duplex printing, but I'll trade that any day for a printer/scanner that works wirelessly right out of the box. Bravo HP.

Printer resists understanding like an ancient puzzle
After three frustrating hours of trying to decipher this printer's layers of puzzling buttons and achieve setup despite near-complete lack of instructions, I called a network-savvy friend with whom, after another half-hour of work, we got through basic wireless setup under Mac Lion. There just is no need to make a device as impenetrable as this one; I had the feeling that HP employees/suppliers in China were giggling at my attempts to maintain sanity.Just for the record, I've been using computers continuously since 1968, first as programmer and later as user of DOS, Windows, Linux and Macintosh. I'm no newcomer. The only reason I've awarded 2 stars instead of 1 is that, when you do guess the right combination of features and instructions, this printer does deliver readable prints, rapidly. In all other senses, to release a product of such complexity with a scant few drawings as instructions for use is irresponsible on Hewlett-Packard's part. This is surely a sign of the company's decline.DEC 2012: I upgraded it to 3 stars: most of its advertised functions do work, though despite a nonintuitive user interface; the starter toner cartridge supplied lasted for over 500 pages, and installing a new toner cartridge can be done in less than minute---"Poka Yoke" to the max!
