Really great tool, as expected from Wera
Well designed and very solid feel. The handle is larger in diameter than a normal Wera driver but is still relatively comfortable to hold. It’s not as nice feeling to me as the more slender handles but offers more torque with it’s larger overall diameter. The push button on the back hasn’t ever accidentally opened the handle on me unintentionally in the past year I’ve owned it, yet is easy to push and open to access the stored bits. The button must be pushed in about ⅛” (3mm) to release the closure inside the handle and it has stiff spring tension to pop it open quickly. The bit storage has retainers for 6 1”(25mm) insert bits made from standard 1/4” (6.3mm) stock. The ring selector for lock, left ratchet and right ratchet is made of metal and marked with a small ridge that works like a pointer to the references for the actions marked on the plastic handle with ‘R’ for turning right and ratcheting left, ‘o’ in center for locking the driver in both directions and an ‘L’ for turning left and ratcheting to the right. It works the opposite direction from my Snap-On ratcheting driver in the direction I have to twist the selector to turn for driving. For this driver you twist the selector to the left to select ‘R’ to drive and to the right to select ‘L’ for loosen action. It’s got a solid locking feel when selecting different positions and hasn’t accidentally been bumped out of position on me during use over the past year of using it. The selection ring also has flat sides on a hexagonal trim edge for anti-roll which works well and looks nice. The six sided shaft is a good surface to be able to spin in the ratchet direction easily with my index finger and thumb for quick low torque removal or driving of fasteners. I don’t feel like I miss using a round knurled shaft for this purpose and I think I get a little more torque by having the hexagonal surface to turn with my fingers. The shaft is hexagonal tool stock with the stainless steel magnetic bit holder friction fit at the tip. The bit holder isn’t perfectly inline with the shaft and has a very minor wobble that I only noticed when I checked it for runout. It has about .5mm of runout. I actually had the first one I bought replaced by Wera for having pretty bad runout at the stainless steel bit holder that is pressed onto the end of the shaft. The bits fit well with tight tolerance in the magnetic insert bit holder. The bit holder retains insert bits nicely with it’s strong magnet and the magnet is strong enough to pick up small ferrous objects such as 3”(75mm) screws on the end of an inserted bit. The bit holder doesn’t have a retention ring which I think is a good thing. Bits are easy enough to insert and remove from the holder even though the magnet is very strong and holds bits securely without a retention ring. The ratchet mechanism is designed with a very fine precision ratchet that locks well and feels solid and refined. The softer green molding of the handle feels a little more stiff than most of my other Wera drivers but still delivers a nice gripping surface. I hope this review is helpful.

Feels great in your hands and has most of the bits you will need.
The Wera Kraftform Kompakt 27 RA Ratcheting Screwdriver has proven to be a valuable addition to my toolkit. The ratcheting mechanism is solid and adds efficiency to my tasks, making it a lot quicker than other ratcheting screwdrivers I’ve used. The Kraftform handle provides excellent comfort, reducing fatigue during extended use. The bit holder is built-in and accessed through a single pop of the button on top of the handle. It has the bits I would need for build for most tasks. Overall, the quality of this ratcheting screwdriver is amazing and feels incredibly durable. It stands out as a high-quality option within its price range, and I strongly recommend it.

One of the best Ratchet screwdrivers I have ever used.
Wera!!! you dagone done got it right again!!! * This screwdriver feels very solid in the hand. * ratchet mechanism is very durable, most likely all metal construction. * I ofcourse treat this tool like a baby by keeping it lubricated, including the bits. Most tools and bits rust when exposed to moisture. Better to keep ahead of the maintenence and the tool will return loyalty and dependability to you. I anticipate this tool will last at least a decade, maybe more.... as long as you don't go king kong on it and go beyond its rating. * I love the feedback tactile and audio. I work in construction and I need to hear the clicks. It shows that the screw is tight and not stripped. * I've snapped screws by my hands so yeah.... I need to hear the clicks. When the clicks start slowing down means I need to dial down my strength to delicate mode asap. * people complain about the grip being too small. But I prefer this design because I can rest the handle in the groove of my palm and use a relaxed finger and wrist motion at the beginning of the fastening and then switch my grip to King Kong grip and twisting super slow and firmly while listening to the clicks (the butt of the screwdriver exposed at the back of the hand like holding a motorcycle handle). I do tight and maybe one click if I feel the screw is willing to turn a little more. If the screw don't want to turn, I leave it be. I never force it. Also I don't want to flatten the copper wire. If you're going that tight, you ain't no electrician. Initially, I was unsure if the bit would stay in the driver because I have had situations where the bit from my 11-in-one screwdriver would stick to the screw and come off the screwdriver.... So frustrating especially in hard to reach areas..... So Frustrating.... But not with the Wera ratcheting screwdriver. *the magnet is strong just the way I like it. I'd rather put a little effort into removing the bit than for the bit to slip out at a horrible time... like hard to reach areas. Obviously I don't use these non-torque screwdriver in panel boxes because it's not serious if the screws on receptacles are not torqued perfectly (though you definitely don't want loose connections). But in the panel, it is super super serious. I will not go into a panel maintenance or install without a calibrated torque driver. And I done the math, it is cheaper to go to a calibration store and fork off $50-100 every year than to get a torque tester, which is in the thousands of dollars. I mean how long do you really think you're going to be in the field? Awesome tool Wera. You done did a great job on this one.

Very good and handy. Works better for working on larger equipment
I’m an IT technician that does every from fixing desktops to mounting TVs. I had an electronic repair kit from iFixIt that works great but couldn’t handle larger screws and was very big. Also, I was trying to build a general toolkit since I was moving away from my parents house and needed my own toolset. I saw this and thought it would be great for any large or small screws It worked great for large screws when hanging TVs, fans, and pictures. I’ve used it for lawnmower repair and a variety of other use cases as well. However, it did not work great for smaller devices or smaller screws in general. The heads are big and the screw driver is large. I stripped a couple different screws using this. Also, if the screws, big or small, don’t have a lot of tension on them, the ratcheting function doesn’t work. It isn’t sensitive enough to work properly. I figured this might be the case before purchasing it. I didn’t think it would be an issue because normally you wouldn’t need to ratchet if it was already loose. However, ratcheting should provide benefits when in a fight spot that restricts arm movement. This screw did not provide benefits for those situations. Overall, I recommend this product for toolbags everywhere. Even though it is large, it is much better than toting around multiple screwdrivers. This is a huge plus for me since I have a car. It also feels very durable. The push button on the handle is a nice feature that I didn’t expect. It allows for one handed opening and quick bit change on the fly. Just wish they made a smaller, stubbier version. Still don’t regret the buy.

Good tool, but not amazing, with a few cons
This tool (as many Wera) has glowing reviews. But in reality, this is only a decent ratcheting screwdriver. It seems as though this category of tools has a lot of flawed models, and I have yet to see a perfect one. One notable complaint with this Wera is that this tool is a bit big - the handle is bulkier than usual Wera screwdrivers (but holds bits as a trade off), and the overall length is a bit long for the effective reach. Also the bit collar and the ratcheting collar can get in the way for access or clearance. But overall I like the Wera hand design in general, and it is still good here. The ratcheting mechanism is just OK. Backdrag isn't too high, but the mechanism could be smoother for a tool of this price (non-budget model). For $10-15 less, it would be fine. I think the number of teeth today is improved from the original and I'm not sure which one I have (because they are the same models). The included bits are not up to my expectations. I am mostly basing this upon #2 Philips because this bit tends to be the most variable in terms of performance between bits, and is a commonly used bit. Wera does make very good bits, so I don't know why this one is not great - doesn't fit well compared to other bits I have. Overall it is a fine enough tool, but for the price, I wish the design were a bit more refined. The handle is still comfortable, but would prefer a slimmer handle, even if it compromised the storage of bits to just 4. I wish the ratcheting mechanism were smoother. But it is a fine tool overall. Any of these complaints could be easily fixed. In fact, they could have already been fixed. I've had this for about 5 years, and the bits or ratcheting mechanism could very well be different today. But this is my experience with the tool I have.

Excellent
This is an excellent and very useful tool. The quality is great. I love the magnetic tip and this way they store the head is very clever.

Wera You Been All My Life?
The Wera Kraftform Kompakt 27 RA Slotted Ratcheting Screwdriver is a marvel of German engineering that looks as good as it functions. This tool isn’t just a screwdriver; it’s a veritable Swiss Army knife for the screw-turning enthusiast. Its ratcheting mechanism is smoother than a jazz quartet, flipping directions with a simple twist. The handle fits in your palm like it was custom-made, providing comfort and torque without the bulk. Versatile? Absolutely. It snaps up bits quicker than a hungry toddler with snacks. And durability? This tool can likely outlast cockroaches in an apocalypse. Whether you’re a professional or a DIY aficionado, this screwdriver adds a touch of class to any tool belt.

quality durable tool
PROS: at the same time I got this tool I got another similar screw driver and I put them to the test the one I bought at the local hardware store did the job but the bits it came with bent a bit how ever Wera stood strong and did the job. lots of torque. Cons: the magnetic tip even dough its a great a addition is a pain when trying to do precision work. it's so strong that took me a bit of effort to aim it to the head of the screw had to use two hands. when using one hand the magnetic tip will drive itself to the surrounding metal. another thing you will have to consider is what do you want to use it for the bit holder is quite big in diameter and the tips are short if you want to go into a deep narrow space the bit will not fit cause is too large. another thing that could be make better is the tips it that comes with are a bit too small in what I do. I only see star head and on occasion flat head the rest I don't have use for it if they include 2 sizes of each it will be more useful than the other tips included that I have no use for. I will buy this tool again and I recommend to buy it its a high quality well made tool
