not bad
I bought this workbook for my son's reading comprehension practice. He really liked it. This book provides controlled vocabulary, exposure to a variety of age-appropriate reading selections to which children can relate, ample activities following each selection covering all aspects of reading comprehension, skills review lessons, a combination of multiple-choice and open-ended exercises, and skills review lessons. It provides children with the practice and skills they need to develop their comprehension skills, and encourages them to read independently and closely, which are important for proficiency and success. My son's already seeing how the techniques help him in his normal work. He is now probably the top language student in his class. In the Beestar online tests (a wonderful web site beestar.org), he is ranked high in the honor roll. I'm very pleased with this book.

Not What I Thought I Was Ordering
I thought I was ordering a Stech Vaughn Reading Comprehension Book, but it was mislabeled. I teach low income students and they will not be able to relate to this book. I wanted the Stech-Vaughn version of this, not a Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Book . This book is a Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Book. I looked through the whole book and never found even a reference to Stech Vaughn. So, the description of this book was deceptive.

A well constructed practice book
A must have series. Interesting stories and great questions. Questions are mostly analytical questions which require language production on the part of students.
