KMC Z6 5/6 Speed Chain, Grey, 114 Links

I've bought two of these now for two old-ish hybrid bikes, and it's compatible with ordinary bog-standard Shimano parts.The one I fitted to the first bike has been put through quite a bit of punishment, near daily use for 8 months, heavy-ish loads up steep hills, and still runs smoothly through gear changes without any signs of wear or slippage.The quick link did fail on me though after a few hundred miles - You swap longevity for the convenience of being able to easily remove and reassemble the chain. It's a good idea to buy spare quick links and have them on hand! But the rest of the chain is still fine.

I've never changed my bike chain before but knew it was time to because when oiling my chain I saw a couple of links were missing rollers.It was very easy to change my chain. Using a chain link tool I popped the existing chain off, held it against the new one to measure the required length, removed the surplus links from the new chain, and used the link to fix this new chain.Very happy as it was both cheap and easy to install.

KMC has a reputation for good chains at a great price so brought this for an old 1993 6 Speed Specialized Crossroads Cruz bike, I removed a couple of links to match the chain I was removing and then it was really easy to fit with the provided master link.Also brought a pair of Master link pliers so it will now be easy to remove the chain for easy cleaning.

I have used this to replace the original chain on a 6 speed Dahon folding cycle.The indexed gears now work perfectly.

Well made chain. KMC are my preferred chain and I’ve purchased a few over the years. Particularly like the “missing link” which is easy to use.
