Genuine Oil Gun Stock Finish

Did exactly what I wanted

3 ounce bottle but it goes a long way however, if the cap is not on tight, it drys out very fast.

I am using it on a sanded down guitar body. I cannot believe the effect this oil is having on it. It looks fantastic, and couldn't be easier to apply.

I have used Tru Oil often in the past. Results have been excellent. B-C's Genuine Oil came to my attention as a less glossy version of the same. I refinish stocks and for some I want a more antique appearance. Genuine seems much thinner than Tru Oil. I like all the other B-C products, for what it's worth. I find Genuine is finicky and does not set up uniformly without a few more coats than Tru-oil. Even then, I find myself spot feathering, just to get an even finish. Wet sanding, polishing don't seem to improve the final finish consistency, only lots of coats and lots of dry time in between.

Requires 12 to 24 hours between coats as directed. Very thin, take many coats for a durable good looking finish.

Used the Orig. Oil for new walnut stock. Not good at all. The instructions are sparse, and the oil bottle, even when opened just with a pin hole, goes bad in 6 weeks. The oil did not cure correctly, even within several days, prob because of the cool temps (60F) I held it at. Changed things, and placed stock in a heated chamber, which was better, but by then the orig bottle of oil showed congealing. Bought a fresh bottle, but the promised 12-24 hrs cure is a dream. I called the help line, but they were no help at all. I just bought a 3rd bottle, but should have stripped the stock and moved on to another product.
