Does this work on marble counter tops?

I had a yellow. oil air freshener leak on my white marble bath sink counter. I used this product 3 times. It took forever to dry. It worked somewhat but there is a stain remaining tho lighter. I don’t know how long the stain was there before I saw it. A fresh stain may have responded better.
