One reviewer says they came with stickers on them, is this true? I dont want horrible stickers on the box.

Yes. You need to clean the boxes as they are usually second hand. I found soap and water does it though.

Crates came with awful stickers

2 out of 4 Crates came with awful huge stickers on the front side hidding the winemakers emblem.. it took me half an hour to remove them with a scraper.. the seller should clearly explain in the product description that the crates might have stickers on them and also sell those crates with stickers at a discounted price.. if I had known I would have bought from elsewhere
