Camping to Glamping upgrade
This freezer unit is the second one I have purchased Of the Ausranvik brand. I have the 26 qt unit I use as a fridge and wanted a second unit to use as a freezer. It is used strictly off grid. I use Goal Zero Yetis for power and plug the 12 volt line into the Yeti. The unit cools down rapidly to -4 degrees F, taking less than an hour. The ambient temperature is usually 88 to 90’s and this freezer has no trouble obtaining and maintaining subzero temperatures. Do not expect it to freeze food or ice, however. Best use is to cool it and add already frozen food or, in my case, I make ice cubes for drinks and keep them in this freezer. It runs intermittently at about 50 watts or less and is easy on the Yeti. One 100 watt solar panel provides adequate power to run this freezer plus extra power to charge the Yeti. The interface is easy to use. I take pictures of the manual pages and create an album on my phone so I always have my manuals on hand, too. It is easy to clean and works good. I am very happy with Ausranvik fridge/freezers.

A must have for traveling!
Works like a full size frigerator/freezer but in a mini size. If you don’t want to mess with ice and the expense this is a ideal alternative. Ice as it melts ruins food. Some have an rv with no freezer compartment, have one now. This is good for traveling in a vehicle with the 12volt adapter or boondocking if one has a portable generator to plug into. One needs a powerful solar panel to keep the appropriate battery charged up. Or like others have said a freezer/refrigerator for their hotel/motel. Cant stand warm/ hot beverages like water, juice or soda. Not noisy whisper quiet. The light blue is really visible so maybe one won’t put anything heavy on it while traveling. Hope it lasts for yrs to come. Some issues with the control panel, a replacement was sent. Excellent customer service experience.

Product is nice, but Amazon failed to deliver the first order and gave me misleading advice
I would have given 5 stars, but took one off due to poor customer service (I'm being generous). First, I'll explain the problem: This product was advertised at a "Black Friday" discount price of $148 when I placed my first order on November 28, 2019. It was supposed to arrive on December 1, but tracking info first indicated that it went to an "incorrect carrier facility" (Hanover US) on November 30. The most recent tracking status I received was "Package delayed in transit" at 8:00 PM December 1, but the shipment never arrived. I contacted Amazon customer service by chat on December 4 and was told a refund would be issued for the lost shipment, which I did receive. However, I still wanted this item -- but by that time the price had increased to $185. The chat representative responded "...go ahead and place another order and write back to us after the product is delivered and we will issue refunds for the proce (sic) difference." The second order did arrive, so I wrote back by email on December 9 but never received the promised refund. I followed up again this morning (January 4, 2020) by email, and was told in a reply "I am sorry for the hassle you have faced in this regard. However I would like to request you to kindly re order the exact same items with the current price only and once it is delivered, just free to contact us. Only then we will be able to issue you the price difference. Rest be assured. We will surely do as promised." Of course, I already reordered on December 4 and wasn't about to do it again. So I just spent about 20 minutes on the phone with another Amazon rep, and now I'm told there will NOT be any credit issued for the $37 difference, because "the price fluctuates". This phone rep also told me the $148 shown on Amazon's site November 28 was incorrect. I beg to differ, that's what was shown on the original invoice -- and, if the shipment hadn't been lost, I wouldn't be having this conversation! This dispute needs to be escalated, but on to the review of the fridge.I plan to do some car camping later this year and wanted a small device to keep some food and a few beverages cool on the road. Since I sleep on a mattress pad in the back of my SUV, the fridge had to be compact enough to fit on the floor under the glove box at night -- so after checking dimensions, I figured it would just fit in the spot - and it does. Other products I considered had fixed handles that would have extended too far, but these handles are hinged and fit in a recess when not in use -- a good feature. The capacity is large enough for my needs as a solo camper; with three 1 liter water bottles laying horizontally at the bottom of the 9" x 13" cooler compartment, there's still 5" of depth for food such as cold cuts, yogurt, cheese, butter, etc. My vehicle is equipped with an 18 amp-hour 12 volt AGM battery to power mobile ham radio gear and connected through a West Mountain PG40S Super PWRgate which acts as a charger when the engine is running. I ran a test to determine if the fridge would stay at 34F overnight (in ECO mode) without running down that battery, and was pleased to see it still do the job after 15 hours. With compressor and fans running, DC current demand was measured at around 2.4 amps with battery fully charged and showing 12.6 volts under load. 15 hours later, I measured 2.5 amps with 11.95 volts across the battery terminals under load. Standby current is 50 to 60 mA and the duty cycle was around 30 percent. Please note that I had already chilled the three 1 liter water bottles before starting this test, so the fridge was simply maintaining the 34F interior temperature. Of course, energy demand and duty cycle will be higher when initially loaded with items at room temperature -- but in my case, the vehicle will be its source of power until I stop for the night, so that's not a concern. Switching to MAX mode increases the maximum current demand to 3.5 amps.Compressor and fans are very quiet, so I expect no problem sleeping. I expect to set battery protection at medium level, which is supposed to prevent the compressor from starting if the batteries are below 11.8 volts, however, I haven't yet tested this. I also tried freezing three liters of water using the AC adapter in MAX mode with thermostat set at 0F, and it took about six hours to take them from room temperature to ice. Control panel switches are apparently capacitance sensors under a waterproof plastic cover, and I've had no problems with them, nor have I experienced any issues when the connectors on the power cords. The interior LED light is a nice feature, but it's centered about 4-1/2" up from the bottom would be blocked if the compartment is full of food. There's no fan to circulate air inside the compartment; the coil is wrapped around the perimeter and depends on convection to pull heat from items in the center. In general, I'm happy with the product so far and will update this review as time goes on.

Too expensive of an item not to have decent warranty.
We were excited to find a product that could keep items cold when traveling that didn't take up a lot of space in the car. What we didn't count on was of the two cords provided--one for an electrical socket and one for car--once you plugged one cord in (which in our case was the cord for the car) we would have no way to take the plug out without pulling the wires out of the fridge case. We wrote to the company and never heard back from them. Good points for keeping things cool; good points for not taking up a lot of space BUT the wiring is very poor and the company doesn't respond when you contact them.

Ditch the spendy, bulky coolers!
Is it possible to love an appliance? What a sweet little unit! Holds a surprising amount of food, is attractive and easy to use. The interior light is a nice touch too. Took this on a three week camping road trip with highly variable weather. I found that the unit tends to overcompensate a bit with outside temperature swings, freezing a few things with the control set to 35. Overall, very effective and a much better bang for your buck than the expensive coolers. I’d like it if the handles were a little beefier for the weight of the unit with food, and I always struggle changing power cords because the plug is tight and near the bottom. But it’s great not to have the worry and mess of ice in your food. Beautiful, functional and affordable.

Great size, shape and functionality. And color
Been using it in our home to test it out for a few days now and so far so good! Used it as a freezer the first day. It cooled from just over 60 degrees Fahrenheit to 0 in about 30 minutes. I didn't time it but it wasn't long. It's quiet when motor isn't on and not too loud when running. Ice cream was very cold and solid the next day! It can fit a few containers in there. Can also fit 2 half gallon cartons along with other stuff too. Easy to use. Will update if I have any future issues

Arrived Damaged beyond use
Can't give it an honest review because it arrived damaged and unable to be used. So don't take my rating as the product itself is bad. I was really looking forward to using it in our nursery to freeze my wife's breastmilk for our new baby boy.
