Pure Logwood Dye Powder - Logwood Trap Dye, Finely Ground - 100% Natural - Net Weight: 1.76oz/50g - Blackwood, Bloodwood Tree, Bluewood, Campeachy Wood - Haematoxylum Campechianum

I used this powder thinking it was an extract. The packaging says "100% dried logwood powder." I believe this product to be dried logwood heartwood that has been finely shaved, not dried extract. The product appears to be very good from the standpoint of it being a wood extract, but this alters dye recipes. If your dye recipe calls for logwood wood chips or powder, use as-is. If your recipe calls for extract, multiply the weight of extract by 4 to 5 to get the weight of wood chips/powder needed (this stuff) Overall it's quite good but you will also need to filter any dye bath before use unless you want to clean off fine wood shavings which isn't fun (if you're dyeing fabric). For a dye wood powder, it's quite good but also remember you're paying for something with 20% or less dyeing potency as an extract.

This Logwood powder does not dye fiber purple! It is an entirely different powder from Pure Logwood Dye Powder for Natural Dyeing of fabric, yarn or fiber!
