Saturday Night Fever

***SOUNDSTRACK of the 70s***
The SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER soundtrack is a must for any music collection. One of the best selling movie soundtracks of all time, next to The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album , it's filled with hits produced and written by the Bee-Gees and others.I don't think there's a bad track on this album and the remastering sounds good. This replaces my older two-cd set of this album and sounds a lot louder and clearer. All of the Bee-Gees' hits are here, as well as the other artists that were featured in the movie. And even though there's a heavy "disco" sound to the songs, they still sound fresh. I especially like Walter Murphy's "A Fifth Of Beethoven."Anyway, if you don't already have this soundtrack then I suggest that you get it. Although I would have liked some extra tracks on here for this 2007 release, like maybe some alternate takes or something, but it's good enough as is.A small booklet with song credits and some pictures is included, but no lyric sheet.

Staying on beat
Saturday Night Fever ("The Original Movie Soundtrack" album): OK, I'm not a big Disco fan but for a while, if you wanted to meet a chick, you had to hit the disco floor...I confess my limited participation was for that reason. Yes, I did "The Hustle" (not found on this disc) and I do confess having a good time! This is not great music but it is fun music. Historically speaking, believe it or not, Disco music is the direct predecessor to Rap Music (wrap your noggin around that one!). Overall... "It has a beat, it's easy to dance too, I give it a..." A Classic!
This was a wonderful soundtrack with such a lively, upbeat score for a movie like "Saturday Night Fever". The 1970s/1980s were a hard time for New York City, & I think the general public looked for something that got them dancing, instead of lamenting the increasing degradation of their (& my) city. I was very interested, as well, to find out that, if you are in a position where you have to administer CPR to save someone's life, the beat of "Staying Alive" was recommended as the beat to follow in this procedure! (That makes the song title so apt! Remember this, everybody!) I confess to having happy memories come back every time I listen to this album.

Not enough Bee Gees!
As a child of the 70's, you'd think I would have this soundtrack memorized. At the time I was pretty much a member of the Disco Sucks! club, so only now, at age 52, did I decide to purchase this, after reading an interview with Barry Gibb in Rolling Stone. I sort of wish that I'd gone in a different direction, and purchased a "Best of the Bee Gee's" type of thing instead. Yes, there are Bee Gee's songs here, but there are also some really annoying (and LONG!) disco songs that most of us forgot were even on this album. Check the song list before buying, just to besure that THIS is what you really want to be listening to!

Bring back those days ...and memories.
I was looking for some selections from my past days of Disco and the music that I use to love. Today's music isn't bad but sometimes you want that "sounds of 70's" and this fit the bill . I also needed something to increase my speed on the treadmill ,so with this I get into the beat that I remember and kick up that old feeling of my youth. The quality of the era is there and the songs are a great variety ! I would recommend this to anyone who like the sound of the 70's.

Great music for cleaning your house quickly, the Bee Gees had a unique sound and uplifting music.
I am sorry that most of the Gibbs are deceased. I love this CD and when I had it as a vinyl record, I would use it to get my housework done quickly with its quick disco beats it would make me energetic and inspire me to get the jobs done quickly. This CD is a winner with songs like How Deep Is Your Love, More Than A Woman, If I Can't Have You and Night Fever this is a must-have CD. If you like the Bee Gees, you'll love this one.

Gets me all revved up!
There is nothing that gets me in the mood like the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack! Maybe I can't do the back flips and splits like I used to but I can still boogie with the best of them at VFW hall! I bought this as a gift for my husband who was known as the " Disco King Kong!" This CD sounds great and is much better than the 8 track version we have been playing for the last 30 years. You won't be disappointed!

GREAT
Great album from the film of the same name. 70s disco/dance. Love all the tracks. Brought back some good memories. Who can forget John Travolta in that white suit strutting his stuff on the dance floor. Marvelous. I am pleased with my purchase and would buy again.
