Reliable, easy to use, simple management and necessary with multiple devices in the home network
An excellent home network switch with easy to use controls and monitoring. If you have multiple Wi-Fi and ethernet devices in your household network, you will no doubt have come across a situation where something decides to flood your network and stop everything working. Known as a broadcast storm, a device can flood the network to the point where everything stops and it can be time consuming to work out which device is storming the network and then restart it.Netgear hardware is great for the home user, very good quality and easy to manage. And this great, cheap (for what it does) switch allows you to set limits on each of it's ports to that 'if' a device does have a meltdown and start broadcasting wildly, the switch will stop it in it's tracks. You simply look at the monitoring console to see which port and therefore spur of your network is flooding and it simplifies the process of restarting the 'bad actor'.Definitely worth upgrading to this type of switch compared to the basic, unmanaged switch.

Still works great a few months down the line
I'm a few months into using this switch and it's been pleasantly smooth sailing. I'm a novice when it comes to networking, so I was glad to be met by the seamlessly easy plug-and-play of the device. I set this up in the upstairs hallway and it serves to provide the upstairs systems (mostly Computers & TV Boxes) with a stable and constant ethernet connection - I'm happy to say it hasn't yet failed in this role. Very nice product, sold at a very reasonable price.

Netgear 8 port switch.
Truly plug and play if you just want simple switching. Does have advanced features if you need to use them.Ports carry 1 gig as advertised.Lacks POE but this is clear in the advert and is reflected in the very reasonable price.

Useful network upgrade
As expected from the brand and type of network switch, it was a case of simple plug and play set up.I bought this as my ISP sent a router with only 1 port and my existing 4 port switch wasn't large enough to accommodate the additional requirements. It looks to be made well, and performs within its specification.

A great little workhorse for your network
This is the third on eof these I've bought to put in various places around the house as our network needs have grown. I'm quite surprised to realise that the first one was bought aruond 10 years ago and that the same model is still available. They're straight forward and reliable. A great way o expan your home network. It's fast, small and easy to install.

Amazing Plug and play switch to expand home network.
I needed a switch to expand the amount of devices I have hardwired in my home network and this has been perfect for what I needed. It’s small, made of metal and feels extremely robust. The package comes with the unit and the power supply only so no cables included on this one.I’ve got this plugged in with my router sitting on top and have had no issues so far with heat or interference. There is no heat being transferred through the case and I feel very comfortable with it being plugged in all the time. For installation, this is a plug and play device which requires no management. Plug a cat6 cable into one port on the device and the other end into a free port on the router and then lead your other devices into any of the other ports. It’s worth noting that if you’re buying this switch and have gigabit Ethernet, you will need at least Cat6 cables to get the highest speeds. The size isn’t much bigger than a ps5 game game and comes in a nice black/blue colour.Overall I’m very happy with this and have seen zero issues so far and will update this review again if this changes.Definitely recommend for the price!
