In the main is solid German engineering made from good quality materials.Two little negatives. No spacers provided between wheels and frame. That could have been a problem as between the back of the wheel and the frame you have 4-5cms space. You can't put washer on inside of wheel a there is not enough thread length to then keep wheel in place. My son came up with idea of cutting up a piece of hose to insert on axle either side which worked well.One piece that forms the frame and the join where you fix the bracket for the handle was not as illustrated and did not fit well with its partner piece. Instead of circular tube it was flattened with two screw holes rather than 1. With some effort was able to connect bracket for handle. Not sure if this was a part for a different modelPutting these negatives in perspective the reel does job of handling long thick hose effectively and is only device I have been able to identify which does so. My hose is around 60m and thicker then normal

Brilliant product taking the backache out of winding up a hose, or having to stand on your plastic hose reel whilst spinning the handle. This one is sturdy enough to leave on its own and just turn the handle.Be wary though that you are just buying the reel, not the hose that is shown as the picture. Nothing wrong with the product, but could be advertised more clearly that the hose isn't included.

I have had this 6 months and has been outside without the cover and it is rock steady and much better than those plastic ones from the usual brands. Great with the 50M hose I have on it and I am sure it would hold much more.

Only complaint is that it is flat packed and you do need some decent tools to put it togetherGot a 50 metre reinforced hose on easily not used it yet but keep it in the garage

The final result is nice enough but the assembly is difficult and requires two people / four hands plus tools that not everyone will have available. Instructions and poor low-contrast photographs are thoroughly inadequate. If I could give it zero stars for "Ease of Assembly", I would. Do not buy unless you have or can borrow DIY skills, a socket set, and a range of spanners.

First off it was a bit tricky to put together and required a decent tool kit (pipe wrench, spanners, screwdriver) and the assembly instructions are poor as you can't see what is what on the printed photos.A bit more light duty than expected and the wheels wobble about a bit. Some welds have holes in them so will most certainly rust in time. The pipe union that is supplied and already tightened with PTFE leaks and apart from dismantling it again after assemble will have to stay like that.Not really very stable and will move around and tip over when winding the hose back in after use.Would I buy it again, no.

One of those rare products that still proves the phrase 'you get what you pay for'.I seldom write reviews but was really impressed with the quality of this. A million miles from the designed-to-cost aluminium and plastic versions that break after a few years. I don't expect to buy another of these in my lifetime.In particular, I was impressed by quality of the welding, how the spray painting covered the cut edges, the robustness of the rubber tyres, the metal plumbing fixings (with PTFE tape pre-applied) and the protective cover. The latter should prolong the life significantly and worth the premium over the cheaper green versions from other suppliers, in my view.Expensive, but worth every penny.

We have just assembled this item . The wheels are wobbly, the handle is shaky, some of the bolts have stripped the threads. It looked quite sturdy when we unpacked itIt is quite low down so a tall person would find it awkward to reel in the hoseThe only really good thing is the waterproof cover that comes with it
