Better than expected!!!
Was looking to replace an older audiology standalone turntable, and this is what I chose because I didn't have much to spend. This is plug and play. Which is what I wanted. I have it connected to my home stereo through an rca cable and switches it from phono to line out. The ground wire/connection i don't have connected and it works perfect. That wire is for noise cancellation (ie hums/ buzzes/ or static) that you might hear at lower volumes. My setup works fine without. And in didn't hear any extra noise coming through either. My opinion well worth the buy. Still haven't used the usb function for computer recording.

It is in the trash after less than a year.
I was expecting to find some fault with this turntable at such a low price but come on... I could not get it to track all the way through a record because the tonearm lead-in wires were catching on something underneath the tonearm. The tonearm was loose and needed the mounting screws secured. The small audio pre-amp is on the same board as the USB port which causes a nasty noise when the USB is plugged in which eliminates direct connecting to a computer. I was forced to use the phono input of my old receiver and noticed a hum whenever I touched the cartridge only to find the lead-in wires were reversed. I had to open it up to correct the tonearm tracking problem which is when I discovered the reversed wiring. Also the speed pitch control center is way off and will need to be re-calibrated with a gauge. Still it will not hold proper speed and always sounds like the record is off-center. If you are not afraid to open it up and FIX a brand new turntable this is at least a third the price of others with the same features, otherwise spend a little more money. After less than a year I have replaced it with an older turntable that plays much better.

Defective unit with a happy ending
This got off to a bit of a rough start, but turned out great! I received a defective unit from this seller, and from looking at the comments that appears to be a common occurrence. It played far too fast (nearly 45 on 33!), so I called Gemini's help desk rather than contact the seller (seeing as the seller has a history of defective units so probably doesn't care). They gave me a fedex label and had me post it to them in NJ, I had a replacement unit with a week of sending. Replacement unit is brilliant. Super clear sound, runs at a near perfect 33.3, easy to set up, and looks like a boss.Gemini customer support are great, I would't hesitate buying further products from Gemini directly based on this experience.

Gemini TT-1100 USB Belt Drive Turntable
This was purchased to convert my rather large record collection to mp3. The only reason I didn't rate it as 5 star is simply because the set up was much trickier than it promised to be. All advertising for this product portrays it as a simple plug and play device, however it took some adjusting to be able to simply hear it through the computer. The turntable comes with Audacity, which is used to record the vinyl to mp3, and works well. However, there are no basic instructions for using Audacity, and one oversight at least is not informing buyers that if they want to actually HEAR what they are recording, they must go into Audacity's preferences and tick the 'play-through' box. It seems to me like common sense would dictate one would want to hear what they are recording. Also, you have to unplug the turntable's usb in order to hear the mp3s played through windows media player. Again, maybe it's a setting that needs adjusted. Finally, while Audicity is included free, and is great for recording, to actually convert to mp3 you'll have to download LAME.dll, another thing they don't tell you up front. Having said all that, once it was connected, audible, and working properly, the sound quality is great and I don't see any evidence of platform wobble or being off-speed. For the price, I would definitely recommend it, just be prepared to spend a little time online figuring out why it's not working if you're not a computer whiz.

Stear clear of this turntable
This is unfortunate because the customer service was very good. However this is just a low quality turntable made to look like a more expensive DJ model. I tried 3 of these all together and even after a laborious set up, they all played back with too much wow & flutter and unacceptably poor sound quality. The dial on one of the counterweights was faulty on one of them and I contacted the seller, who told me to call Gemini directly. They sent out a replacement immediately which was appreciated. However this is the only reason I would even give 1 star to these. I ultimately returned all of them and got a mid level Audio-Technica and it plays perfectly with minimal set up (I don’t need all the DJ bells and whistles anyway). Overall: Good customer service, just don’t waste your time of money on these!

Don't Waste your time or money
Based on the reviews I was really looking forward to this turntable performing well. I was so disappointed. I've owned for about three months, within two weeks of ownership the turntable started getting "pitchy". I finally had to retune it for repair. (At a cost of $60). The directions on setup are marginal, and the support from the manufacturer is poor. They have limited hours, and I left them two messages and never received a call back. On my third attemp, I spoke to a live person, but he couldn't have care less.
