Look no further! This is a GREAT product and a company with great customer service!
Yayyy! I have debated getting one of these for a while now and just couldn't justify it until recently. I scowered the internet looking for one at a fair price, that had the color I wanted (I mean, it IS a decent size and in my apartment, so I wanted it to blend with the rest of the scenery) and also had good reviews for being a decent product. I am not disappointed! As soon as I got it, I blew it up and like other reviewers, thought it looked pretty small. I remember what the others said about giving it time to expand, and also in the directions, so I blew it up to what seemed like it's full size and gave it 24 hours to do it's thing. After that I was able to blow it up more and now it is it's full size and I haven't had to add any air. I LOVE this thing! I'm in my 200 hour yoga teacher training and also have chronic lower back pain, probably from years of riding horses and/or a bad car accident when I was younger. This ball has become part of my routine and a fantastic tool for stretching, laying all over in different ways, and also great for throwing at the husband in sneak attacks =] ha ha ha. I also use it for exercising at home as I do a lot of resistence training and it is my goal to do as many work outs as I can without going to a gym. If I want to use weights or the sauna, I go to the gym. Otherwise, I like working out at home or outside in nature. One part of my workout that was really tripping me up was doing back extensions on the roman chair. I couldn't figure out a way around it and have been bothered about not being creative enough to figure out a way to do it without heading to the gym. I don't know why I didn't think of using this ball! Now I can finally do back extensions at home amongst stepping my game up in a bunch of other ways. I also have a lot of fun just laying on it in different ways, watching t.v. while sitting on it and being able to move my back and hips while I'm sitting, and I even use it as my "office chair" to keep mobility up. It is doing wonders for my lower back, which I haven't had relief for in YEARS. My husband also really loves using it for his exercises and the dog has also made it her personal mission to try and kill it. We have a 57 pound muscle packed meatball of a dog who has run at and jumped on this ball with nails out and had zero issues with it getting torn up or popping. It's smooth, just the right enough of bounce, strong, durable, and doesn't have any offensive smell to it. I also love that it came with a pump and a way to delfate it if need be. It shipped fast and thus far customer service has been fantastic - which for me is half the worth of a product. Thank you guys for a great product! We are very happy with it! I may even opt to one day buy a bunch of these for one of our yoga studios for when I run a prenatal class!

Very high quality, durable, excellent desk chair
I have been using this ball as a desk chair for over a year and a half. It has retained most of the air from the original pumping - certainly enough to continue using it without needing to refill. I'm 5'4" and ordered the 65", one size up from my height according to the size chart. It would be too big to use for exercises, but works well for sitting at a taller desk. Fully pumped, my knees are bent at just slightly over ninety degrees while sitting, and my feet reach the ground comfortably. Once it softens and loses just the slightest amount of air, I get ninety degree knees and perfect sitting position. I'm about 120-130lbs, BOUNCE on this thing like I mean it all day long, and it has shown no signs of wear. I sit on it "normally", cross-legged, and with my legs tucked under me, with no durability, stability, or comfort issues. I just purchased a new one, and only because I recently moved and it was easier to buy a new one and keep the old one at my shop desk. Newly pumped, I am reminded that it is a little stiff and firm for the first week or so, but softens up and becomes very comfy to sit on all day. If you fidget, find yourself squirming in traditional chairs or find them uncomfortable, or need something to help you work on your core or balance throughout the day, this is perfect as a desk chair. I wouldn't say an exercise ball necessarily encourages sitting up straight, as I have a bad habit of slouching and leaning into my computer, and sitting on a ball does not seem to prevent this (which is nothing against this brand in particular, just a note to those considering exercise balls as desk chairs). If I get my way, I'll be sitting one one of these for the rest of my desk-bound life, or until they invent hover or trampoline chairs.

Built Like A Tank
Last summer I picked up a used Gaiam ball at a thrift shop. (I think it was this one: Gaiam Balance Ball Beginner Kit (Small, Purple) ) Unfortunately, I think it had a history of over-inflation or was just worn-out, so inflating it to the correct size left it kind of flat, and I doubt it’s safe to use anymore, even though it’s not leaking. So recently I ordered a cheap Reehut Anti-Burst Core Exercise Ball w/ Pump & Manual for Yoga, Workout, Fitness (Grey, 55cm) from Amazon, but when it arrived with a hole in it, I sent it back and opted to fork over the extra money for a Black Mountain Products ball. I’m glad that I did. When I took it out of the package, my first reaction was “Wow! This thing is heavy!” Unfortunately I did not think to weigh the ball before inflating it. The rubber is much thicker than either the Gaiam ball or the Rehut ball--something impossible to determine from product photos on the Internet! It came in a box with a small plastic foot pump, 2 air hole pins, and some really great, detailed instructions for how to inflate the ball (including circumference measurements as well as the standard diameter measure, both of which are in centimeters and inches) and notes on how to decrease your chances of puncturing the ball in use. The inflation instructions are explicit about only using the pump included because it won’t allow you to over-inflate the ball. I didn’t do that. Instead I used a multi-purpose plunger-type pump with the tapered inflation nozzle from this MINTCRAFT FDQ910 1 1 1 Inflation Kit, 4-Piece to inflate the ball. As the ball got close to the correct size, I measured the circumference with a tape measure every few pumps, being very careful not to over-inflate it. The directions are also correct in saying that the ball will feel full before it actually reaches the correct/stated size. If you think your ball is mis-marked/smaller than stated, measure it to check, then keep pumping. Seriously. This ball seemed fully inflated at 48 cm tall (150 cm around), but I kept pumping and it eventually reached 55 cm tall (172 cm around). When I was done, the ball was very firm, with just a little give when I sat on it. That’s a *good* thing. Rubber stretches over time, and I don’t want my ball being super soft and squishy/not even ball shaped when inflated to 55 cm anytime soon! Since I didn’t use the included plastic foot pump, I can’t be certain of it’s quality, but it seems pretty cheap/flimsy. Honestly, I find it weird that pumps are included with exercise balls in the first place. I’d rather my exercise ball be a dollar or two cheaper and buy a better, multi-purpose pump separately. One thing I do want to note about the pump, however, is that the hose can be attached to one of two valves on the side of it. The blue one is for inflating the ball, and the red is for deflating the ball, so if you do use the included pump, make sure you’ve put the hose on the right valve, or you could be wasting your time. Because the ball is basically smooth on the outside, it might slip out of your hands if they get particularly sweaty. Since most exercise ball activities involve balancing on the ball, rather than holding it, however, I consider that a pretty minor negative. The smoothness also allows you to sort of see your reflection, which you may or may not find distracting. The ball appears to have a slight seam/mold line in the rubber around the middle. Because of the weight of the high-quality thick rubber, certain exercises that involve holding or lifting the ball may cause you to fatigue a little quicker. In the long run, this will also be a positive, as it will build a touch more strength, but if you’re incredibly weak, you may want to consider a different ball or a different form of exercise altogether. It's worth noting that the ball is made in China, for anyone who is a stickler about avoiding Chinese-made products or strictly buying U.S.-made ones. I'll take my products from just about anywhere, as long as they're decent quality. There were a couple of spots on the ball that seemed kind of dirty when I first opened it. While I suppose that it’s possible I could have received a used ball, I doubt it. I’m betting that it’s just a little bit of residue or something from the factory. Anyway, it pretty much came off when I went at it with a cheap melamine sponge. Beyond that, there are a few minor surface imperfections and the wrinkles/creases from its previous life folded up in a box are still smoothing out, but that’s to be expected. Overall I’m pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend it. The ball itself seems to be much higher quality than any other exercise ball I have experience with. Since I don’t mind the minor negatives, I still consider this a 5-star product. If I ever have any problems with it, I will update my review and include info on interactions with BMP customer service and all that jazz.

This exercise ball is a little more pricey than something you might purchase at, say Kmart or BigW. But, it’s true what they say, you get what you pay for. I have, and still do, own an exercise ball, bought from one of the places mentioned above. While it is serviceable and useable, I have found that it easily loses air pressure, even as I’m using it, which is frustrating, as I’m continually having to stop my workout to pump it up. This is not the case with my new Black Mountain Strength Exercise Stability Ball. It holds its air pressure extremely well, even with my teenage son using it as a bouncy ball!! I haven’t had to pump it up since I first pumped it up when I received it over 4 weeks ago. And, I’m not exactly a lightweight! I also love the colour. You get to choose from a variety of bright colours and as red is a colour that I have a lot of in my home I chose the red. The colour is bright and glossy and fits right in with my decor. As I live in a small apartment, I don’t have a dedicated room for my exercise equipment, it’s nice to have something so functional look so good. Overall, I recommend any product from Black Mountain, as I also bought a stability base for the exercise ball and again it is good quality. Also my parcel arrived quicker than I expected, which given the way things are at the present time, was a nice surprise.
