This knife from Sanrenmu is awesome! The quality and craftsmanship is such that I would pay twice the price! The blade steel is nice. I feel it is a step above the usual 8CrMov13. The scales are heavy stainless. The blue colored insert is sharp looking. The lock-up is vault like, no perceptible play. The added locking mechanism is ok, not as obtrusive as I was worried it might be. The only detractor is the frame lock is so strong that when the blade is closed it pushes it slightly off-center... The action is very smooth! All in all very pleased, one of three Sanrenmu knives that I own. Each of which have been great! May buy another!

Blade centered, deploys smoothly, frame lock engages positively. Have not tested steel yet per say but rates between Aus8-Aus10 Japanese steel which for the price is outstanding! High value blade!

I would give it a 5 if it weren't so hard to open. Now I am sure this varies knife to knife, but mine is so hard to open that nobody in my house but me can open it. Once it breaks loose, it opens super smooth and locks into place easily. The frame lock - lock is sturdy and would be difficult to defeat and close the knife on yourself. When disengaged, the frame lock unlocks easily and the blade closes smoothly. It's just so hard to open. I have the SRM 9002 EDC knife from this company and it is much easier. So this one stays home and the other gets carried. Like I said, I'm sure it varies and should not be a hindrance to buying this very nice knife.

Immediately impressed by the quality. 14C28N steel. Has the balance I prefer - a little weighted toward the wrist. Adjusts easily for quick opening or safety action. Secure handle lock. Geometry feels great in your hand. Blade came pretty dang gon sharp and perfectly centered in the handle. Would definitely buy again.

Bearings were very gritty, release was labored, pivot was locked tight but I got it loose with extra effort, cleaned and reset so the flip is much better but not what I’ve come to expect from bearing pivots. Blade is heavy and adds to difficulty releasing, wish it was a half inch shorter and lighter. One of the sharpest knives I’ve ever bought.

I own another knife by this company that makes this, and it is one of my favorites. They're very well-made knives, that will hold a great edge and are easy to sharpen. I use this as a hunting knife. The blade is perfect for field dressing deer, just the right length and fits perfectly in my large hands. I recommend this knife to anyone looking for a great knife for hunting, fishing or general utility.
