I Love all of Max Lucados books. Easy to understand and always explained just like the scriptures. I have read so many of his wonderful books and Love them all

Good study Bible resource for the book of Luke Max lucado is a great Bible teacher and is good at using this book to read and study your Bible

The guide allowed me to slow down and experience God’s Words personally. It helped me see Christ as a man and yet acted not like one

The bible study group I belong to is using this series. We like the fact that there isn't a lot of reading per chapter but a lot of discussion. In fact there are times that 2 hours is not enough to get all of it studied.

I've been using this Max Lucado series for a Men's group discussion. Overall, I like the way each of the twelve lessons is structured. There is a new life lesson topic each week, a focus on a passage of scriptures from the Book of Luke, and a series of questions to ensure understanding and to offer Lucado's perspective on said topic. I like that at the end of each section there are additional scriptures to dive deeper into the topic. Having used this Life Lessons from Luke series for 6 weeks, there are some things to note: One, some questions are very basic - sometimes too basic for older Christians. I often upgrade or skip nearly a third of the questions. For new Christians or youths, it would probably work better. Two, you will not be covering all of the book of Luke in this set of topics. For example, Lesson One is taken from Luke 1. Lesson Two skips to Luke 5. So you will be covering twelve topics from the 24 chapters of Luke. Three, do not expect to learn the deeper truths of Luke. This is not a deep dive into the Book of Luke. You will not learn deeper meanings of the scriptures or gain historical appreciation for Luke. It is intended to touch on lessons we can use for living in today's world. Lucado does take liberty to embellish the scriptures to tug at your heart and motivate you in your personal relationship with God. It's not always a bad thing, but some of it is a little over the top. Like I said, better for some groups. Overall, the topics are solid and my small group has benefited from using this series. It is great for opening up dialogs and discussions on how we can improve ourselves.

Just what I needed! This was an excellent tool as I studied the book of Luke. The devotion and response sections allowed me to apply the scripture to my daily life.
