So why is he so intent on making a complete mess out of his life? Just because you've made it, doesn't mean you've got it made! Taking up where the acclaimed 1999 HBO special 'Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm' left off, Season One of this hilarious comedy series features verite-style footage of Larry (playing himself) at home, at work and around town, as he gets into predicaments (many of which are self-inflicted) involving relatives, friends, actors, neighbors, business associates and even incest survivors!]]>

Laugh until your abs look like a washboard.
As much of a fan of Seinfeld that I am, somehow I made it 16 years without ever watching CYE. That is a total travesty, but I am reaping the benefits of binge watching CYE now. Larry David is a comedic genius and I love being able to see the humor being emitted over the HBO experience that could not broadcast on regular television back in the day. Larry is constantly getting himself into little predicaments that we might all find ourselves in at one point or another, but revved up and amplified to make you laugh until your abs look like a washboard. Larry's rants make you feel like you are there. Lastly, Cheryl Hines and Jeff Garlin are the perfect cast to accelerate the David Debauchery.

I can't believe I never watched this before...
First few episodes were really slow, but after that I was hooked. I always wondered why Seinfeld was so funny in the sitcom but terrible doing stand-up, well it's because this is the genius behind his TV character, right down to the mannerisms. With each passing episode I feel compelled to tune in for another to watch the painfully awkward and hilarious moments that ensue from Larry's bad decisions and lack of empathy for anyone other than himself. This show could of almost been named instant karma as it seems everything he does always comes back to bite him by the time each episode has finished. If you enjoyed Seinfeld even in the slightest, you owe it to yourself to check out this series, just give it a few episodes before you throw in the towel.

Funnier than Seinfeld
When you watch Curb, you understand where the quarky funny humor comes from... Larry David. Jerry Seinfeld is a mediocre comedian who has been thrust into comedy royalty from the sitcom that bears his name. But like any mediocre comedian, his snobbery is starting to show through (Comedians in Cars/Amy Schumer ep).Larry David embraces his dislike for humanity by using Curb Your Enthusiasm as a vice for saying what we are all thinking at times, while playing out the scenario of potential results we would all experience for doing so with a comedic twist that keeps you coming back for more. And even though he has had two comedy hits now vs Jerry's one hit, he still manages to not be a d*** like Jerry has become.

Funny series with a guy going from one bad situation to the next.
Great show. This guy was a co-creator of Fridays from the early 80's and Seinfeld and now this. He also did a real good Bernie Sanders imitation during the last election. On this series he is kind of uncouth but he has so many bad experiences with people even worse than himself that you feel sorry for the guy and cringe when thinking of yourself being in the same situations he gets himself into. Sometimes racy, sometimes crude, but always funny.

Larry as himself
Larry David co-created one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, Seinfeld, with fellow comedian Jerry Seinfeld. Following the end of Seinfeld, David was inactive for a brief period of time. That is until 2000, when Larry was back with his new show Curb Your Enthusiasm, which stars Larry as himself. Something about this show just works, their isn't a definite script of dialog, it is an outline with a lot of improvising. This show is honestly one of those shows that you have to catch on a weekly basis. For some reason the Larry David character has become just one of those characters that you have to tune in for each week to see what trouble he is getting himself into.

Love this show and love Larry David
Love this show and love Larry David. Show is sometimes absurd and funny and sometimes hits on real everyday situations we all encounter and are annoyed by, where Mr. David can find humor. Wish we had more talent like this. I have taken to watching most shows produced in either Australia, Great Britan, Canada or anywhere other than the US. Our series (with a few exceptions here and there) are trite, and poorly acted. Seems the US is more concerned with putting beautiful people bulging out of their clothes on the screen as opposed to fine actors. And fine screen writers and directors must be very hard to come by.

Great Humor, Limited Silliness
If you loved Seinfeld, you'll like this as much. Almost every situation has happened to us in some frustrating and funny way. It's so freakin' real, the people don't seem to be acting, and a lot of Larry David's scenes are totally improvised. (He's great.)Ladies, if you really want to find out what guys REALLY think about things, watch this series. What's normal "everyday" items to women, like dinner parties, gift buying/wrapping, socializing, etc. are unpleasant situations for most guys. (Larry's sitcom wife handles it/him beautifully.) And, it's FREE with Prime.Would not watch this with family members because of the language/situations.

this show is an acquired taste
I have to equate watching Larry David with drinking a Guiness. At first it has this nasty bitter taste. You drink a few more and all of a sudden, "you get it". I am a huge huge fan of Seinfeld. A friend of mine kept telling me about this show. I just couldn't get into it. Finally I sat my self down and forced myself to watch a few episodes on on-demand. All of a sudden, a little switch in my head clicked and I "got it". This show is like a spin-off featuring george costanze to the third power. I regret that I watched the third and fourth seasons before i watched the first. Now that I am watching the first season, I spend half the time on the floor lmao and can't wait for season 2 to come out on dvd. Like Seinfeld, this is the kind of show you can watch over and over again and not get bored. All I can say is give it a chance, bear with it for a few episodes, but it will be worth it. My favorite episode is the one with the cadaver sniffing dog in season 3 - "Larry David, you four-eyed F@#K!"

Poor Man's Seinfeld
Finally got around to watching this series. Wow it is Seinfeld all over again only Larry David is no Jerry and there are not enough support characters to sustain it. Having George, Elaine, Kramer and Newman materially adds to the entertainment value. Larry spends way too much time whining and complaining and it grated on our nerves after a few shows. I will admit there were a few real laughs but not near enough. Don't get why this succeeded.
