Nix Ultra Superlice Treatment, All-in-One Shampoo, 4 Fl Oz & Lice Removal Comb

My daughter had lice and I purchased this asap! I did one treatment, about 75% of the bottle and it worked instantly. She had very little lice. The next day she was cleared!Yes, the hair stays a little greasy but I don't mind because that means that the product is still working and doing it's job just in case someone has a very bad case & it keeps killing any eggs that hatch after.Don't use hair conditioner for about 10 days after, only shampoo cleaning.It doesn't say that on the bottle but the conditioner makes Nix less effective after.Use gloves when using this product - my recommendation!

This is the only brand I ever buy when it comes to treating my daughter’s head!It’s easy to use! It doesn’t smell very good but it isn’t horrible either. It’s not a creamy quality like some products. It’s actually more oily. Works 100% and I never use anything else!

This will not work as a stand-alone product. It will not even work for the purpose I bought it for: to check our hair for any nits or eggs that escaped the pesticide treatment. So, this ended up being a waste of money. No where on the listing here on Amazon or on the exterior of the packaging does this tell you that it ONLY detects adult lice.It was only after I cut into the clamshell plastic packaging and read the instructions that I spotted that disclaimer, so I was no longer able to return it to Amazon (I asked). Adult lice are easy to spot - I don't need any help spotting them. They are easy to remove - the cheap lice comb that came in the pesticide treatment kits removes them easily. So, what is this product for, exactly?If you are trying to remove lice without pesticides, this will not help you do that either. By the time an adult lice is big enough to get spotted by this tool, it has already laid dozens of eggs in your hair, and those will all become nits, which become adult lice. Remember that this tool doesn't detect the nits either. It is feasible that the comb will remove them, but if you miss one (and this won't help you to be certain), you allow them to mature, then lay eggs. The cycle won't end. I suspect there is a reason they didn't reveal anywhere that this product DOES NOT FIND NITS OR EGGS; there is no way I would have purchased this had I known.Let's say I found it useful, somehow. You cannot use in on wet hair. Your hair must be dry. If you have ANY wave or curl to your hair, you know that combing it dry is an impossible, painful task. And this comb is very fine, so it's ripping out hair as you attempt to use it. The only people who might find this helpful are those with short, straight, tangle-free hair. That's also NO WHERE stated in the advertisement or on the exterior of the package.I'm really baffled by this product. The only way to hoodwink people into buying it is to withhold information until it is too late, because who is going to refund an opened lice comb? Save your money. You can spot live adult lice without a problem without the fancy electronic component. It's the nits and eggs that are hard to spot.

Used when I saw bugs..gross! Went to a professional the next day and told me I killed everything so hopefully I never need again but it’s effective! Plenty for my longer hair.

I used the classic Rid shampoo treatment first. I had so much of an itching sensation in the week after that I wanted something that would kill lice, nits and eggs and to use it right away, so I tried this Nix treatment. The oiliness was very strange compared to the rid that felt like a gel or shampoo. I leaned over so all my hair would be falling forward and applied it to the nape of the neck first and down toward the tips. This worked for applying, but as I sat waiting the 10 minutes after applying, it started to run into my eyes. It was very strange that because of the oiliness, it wasn't cold like a gel, which made it very hard to tell where the product was or if I had missed spots or if I had too much on. I was worried it would leave my hair oily, but it lathered up in the shower and rinsed out just fine. I like that it's ok to use conditioner after to make brushing easier, but it seems like they should include the conditioner and a good metal nit comb to be safe. I had the itching sensation after this treatment, too, but it could be all in my head or a reaction to the ingredients. Either way, I keep combing through all of my family's hair periodically to make sure we have no stragglers and catch and we might get re-infected with from school.

Works great does the job no bad smell helps with itching

I work for a school district and like to keep this on hand because lice is sadly, a problem when working with so many children. There was a student that had been really close to me who has struggled with lice...and I decided it might be a good idea to be proactive and use this. So I opened it up and used it over the weekend. OMG! This stuff is SO OILY!!! I almost slipped and fell in my bathtub because it left an oily residue all over the bottom of my tub. You might wash this out in your sink if you can. Definitely can be a hazzard...PLUS I had to wash my hair twice to get it all out because it also left my hair incredibly oily after the first wash! I had to use a clarifying shampoo twice to get it out!

It has a pleasant scent and an initially oily texture that makes it easy to distribute evenly through the hair, washes off easily. Most importantly, it’s highly effective. After application, combing through with a fine-toothed comb is smooth and effortless, which greatly aids in removing lice. It doesn’t just kill adult lice—it also effectively eliminates nits. Highly recommended for thorough treatment.
