The Desert Home Hardcover – November 1, 2002

I was looking for a book focused on arquitectural curb appeal more than just interior design arrangements frivolity.

I have always the dessert would be a neat place to live--especially the warm, balmy nights. At least that's the way it was when I have been to the desert. This book is very pleasing on that subject.

When it's gloomy and rainy I retreat to Arizona and New Mexico via this book. I love the flow in the rounded corners and doorways, the warmth of the colors and textures of walls, the solid, heavy uniqueness of doors, simplicity and livability of furnishings, kivas in many rooms. No wonder siestas originated here. I may not ever have the true desert home but I weave essences of it into my apartment wherever I can. It works!

We bought three books to help us design the home we're building in the red-rock country of S. Utah. This one was OK, it helped but wasn't pivotal. Nice pictures. Might want to check it out at your local library before you purchase it.

This was my first book into an entirely different style of architecture, and some really great photos to accompany very informative text
