Then this is the jar for you!Only con--the gold paint on the lid scratches off fairly easily. I can't imagine a scenario in which that would matter, but if you're going to be mad about it, I guess don't buy these.Seriously, I can't believe we haven't broken one. I think one of our lids dented, but it still seals fine, just has a visual dent on one side.

These 4 ounce glass jars with a metal Widetop it’s a good product. Having dropped one I can attest to the fact that they’re sturdily made. Are use them for pectin free jam which is a type of jam that needs to be frozen instead of the traditional canning method. I haven’t yet Put them in the freezer; however I have bought other like jars on the site they have withstood the freezer very well as long as you leave about Half an inch at the top for expansion.In response to Previous reviewers :I found no problem with putting the lids back on and having each just fit a certain jar. From what I experienced all the tops fit all the jars. There was another question about should they be washed prior to use. Yes, in my opinion they should be definitely washed. I can say that there might be a coating on them from theManufacturer, as I wash them in the dishwasher and they were sparkling clean, more so than whenunpackedHighly recommend. See pictures above

I read many reviews before I purchased these. The biggest and perhaps only complaint was that not all of the tops/jars line up perfectly when you twist them together. That was off-putting to me, but I read this about similar products as well so I took the plunge on this one. I figured with the amount I am getting, I can spare to have a few duds. Well, they were right: many do not appear that they fitted together BUT I have found they are still sealed ! So this to me is just an aesthetic concern. Which I understand if you are using them to make something pretty with it; I am not. Purely functional for me and for my purpose (storing yogurt starters in the freezer), they work well. I can use ALL of them because they do seal properly even if they look and feel like the threads aren't line up. And its not all of them, to be clear. GREAT PRICE. GREAT VALUE. WORKS WELL FOR MY PURPOSE :) I WOULD BUY AGAIN :)

I ordered the 20 pack and every single jar came intact. They are perfect for making small candles.Since I liked these jars so much, I ordered the 40 jar set. This time the packaging was not sturdy enough for that many jars. Two were broken and there were a few dented lids.Next time I will order the 20 pack and spend a little more per jar.

These seem to always have 1-2 messed up. I bought the same thing last year and a few lids didn’t screw on. It’s not bad enough for me to send the whole box back and I’ll just toss that one lid. Still won’t get a good review because it should have been checked

The sizing is a little misleading as it actually means fluid ounces. If you want to use these for herbs and spices, they hold 2 oz max of powdered material. They seal really well so I am not worried if my spices will lose potency fast. They also stack well if you want to organize vertically. I did get one jar that was not poured correctly and has trapped sand inside the glass.All in all I would buy again.

Are the jars supposed to shut tight? These weren't.

The lids for these jars don't screw on to the bottoms properly. I've tried contacting the company but haven't heard back.
