Panacea Products 14-Inch Cameo Plant Caddy, Brown

After years of living in large, country homes, we've moved to a townhouse with a tiled courtyard where all of our "landscaping" is in large pots with drip irrigation. This wrought iron plant trolley is well-made and affordable. We were very pleased with its quality and price.

I put my large outdoor pot with my dwarf cherry tree on this rolling caddy. It's strong and beautiful. I can move this huge pot wherever I need it. So glad I found this great buy!

It does what it's supposed to do; the wheels roll easy enough and it's supporting a big heavy plant. Time will tell how it holds up in the long run. I'm sure the plastic dishes will disintegrate in the next year or 2 but that's okay; yes - I live in Phoenix area so it's extreme conditions - your plastic dish may last a long time. The main structure is metal and that's why I chose to buy this one. I'm withholding 5 star status because I can't judge long term performance.

My plant is heavy but it fits perfectly in the plant stand with wheels. On the positive side the caddy is sturdy and I can slide the plant around but the wheels don't move as easily as I expected, or had hoped. They stick a bit on my hardwood floor, I am afraid it will scratch my floor as well. Maybe my plant is a bit too heavy for this, but then they should put an optimal maximum weight in the description in that case. I still can move it but it's annoying because I still have to use a bit of strength.

I am giving this a 5-star because it significantly exceeds my expectations for a plant caddy at this price! The metal construction of the frame is very solid and well finished. I could do without the plastic tray at the bottom (which was easily removed and tossed), as I am just using the saucer that is with my pot already. I have a VERY heavy lemon tree in this caddy (the base *barely* fits within the 17" frame, to give you an idea of the size. I don't know what the stated weight capacity of this caddy is, but it is having no problems with my big, heavy tree! And the benefits (so far) are huge, as we've been able to roll the tree into much better sunlight in the afternoons, having brought it in for the winter now.I really like the design of 5 swivel rollers at the bottom (many have only 4). This distributes the weight much better, and I worry far less about possible damage to the bamboo wood floor on which it is rolling. In fact, after several weeks of moving it around on almost a daily basis, I see no marks on the floor whatsoever. Great!My one complaint: The swivel wheels are a bit on the cheap side and and often get "stuck" when I change direction. As such, the tree either starts to roll in a strange direction, or it "slides" the stuck wheel across the floor (raising my concerns about marring). I would have liked a bit more spent on the wheels and their connection to the frame to ensure they swivel very freely (even under a pretty heavy load) and then glide in the proper direction regardless of how it is pushed. But this issue just is not enough to reduce by a star. I can usually wiggle the pot a bit to release the roller so it pivots properly, and the plant then moves as expected. For the price paid, I can't honestly complain much about those wheels.Overall: I'm very pleased with this caddy...and so is my lemon tree! :-)

This review should actually be for the error in the description. I have a very large jade plant that is almost 40 years old. I presently have it on a caddy with 3 casters, and it tips very easliy when I try to move it. The little graphic actually shows only 3 casters, but is described as having 5 casters. I read all the reviews before ordering this product. One of the reviewers mentioned that hers came with only 4. I thought, "What's the chance of my getting one with only 4 casters?" Well, the chance was 100%! The caddy is going back! What a disappointment! More quality control is needed here.

They are attractive enough to be in doors.These are great when the outdoor plants have to come in for the winter. I use an additional tray liner. The liner is heavier grade of plastic and the water can sit better in the line well. That keeps the caddy liner from wearing out.When the planters and caddy's go out in the summer, I use WD-40 on the wheels and put in sturdier deeper trays, that way I don't have to water as much. I put dunks in the trays and I don't have issues with mosquitos. When I need to move a planter around, because of too much sun or not enough, having them in caddy's makes it an easy chore. Even going over older bricks.

This is a well constructed item and is quite serviceable. I didn't rate it a five as I don't really rate anything that high. We have purchased these previously and have been most impressed. We live in Arizona and do almost all pot gardening and when these are brought in for the cooler winter season these caddy's really relieve strain on the back.
