Smells EXACTLY as it Should, Completely debri free
I read so much on many different brands of beeswax about the unpleasant smells that I was concerned but gave the Beesworks pellets a try. Yes it has a odor. But guess what, not 2 days after using the Beesworks wax, we harvesting an abandoned bee hive that took over a squirrel box in our back yard....GUESS WHAT! The inside of the squirrel box was filled with honeycomb smelled exactly like the Beesworks wax pellets.......and I mean EXACTLY even in it natural state (see picture) in the box. Its somewhat of a neutral smell and one I cannot place from memory. My wife says it smells like wax. I used the Beesworks wax to combine with mineral oil to make a lotion for cutting boards. This beeswax is stated to be cosmetic grade which does not mean food preparation safe but as it is used to make lip balm I feel safe that any minute residue picked up from a cutting board is certainly less then one consumes when applying directly to the lips. The small beans of wax make it easy to measure out and it melts quickly. To make cutting board lotion, it was suggested a ratio of 4 parts food safe mineral oil to 1 part beeswax but I found that 6 to 1 was a better consistency for me and allowed it to be used with a bottle with a finger pump. Heated in a jar placed in simmering water the beeswax melted quickly and combined entirely with the mineral oil. While hot the wax oil mix was completely clean and clear, no debris was visible in the liquid and when cooled made a mildly yellow opaque lotion (see picture). AFter applied to the wood, I did not smell the same odor as when opening the bag. The concoction does not absorb completely into the wood cutting board and leaves a film unlike just pure mineral oil. I think I will experiment with even more dilutions of the beeswax as im not happy with the film the 6:1 concoction leaves and perhaps even add some lemon scent to it.

definitely beeswax
This is probably the best beeswax on Amazon. While the product does not claim to be organic, its quality is equal to any organic beeswax I have used. Furthermore, the price is very reasonable when purchasing in bulk. I noticed a one-star review claiming the product is sourced from China (I cannot verify this). However, based on my own testing, it smells like authentic beeswax, and the melting temperature is exactly what you would expect. I felt compelled to test it myself since I use this ingredient to make therapeutic balms. Frankly, the negative review concerned me, and I suspect it may have been posted by a competitor. I have been buying this brand since 2015, and I have purchased it 15 times in total without ever experiencing an issue.

Pure, High-Quality Beeswax Pellets – Perfect for DIY Projects!
These Yellow Beeswax Pellets are excellent quality—pure, clean, and easy to work with for all my DIY projects. The natural beeswax scent is light but pleasant, and the pellets melt smoothly without any gritty residue, making them perfect for balms, candles, and salves. I love that they come in a resealable bag, which helps keep them fresh and easy to store. Unlike some beeswax I've tried before, these don’t have any synthetic smell or impurities, which is a huge plus. If you're looking for high-quality beeswax with a natural feel, this is a great choice!

Good quality, pellets easier to weigh for salve making and lotions
Love the pellets over blocks. (Too difficult for me to cut wax bricks for accurate weight). Good quality, reliable consistency. I'm on my 2nd batch of the 2 bag set. Everything is the same consistency, melts quickly and consistent excellent quality from batch to batch. Clean. Doesn't turn gritty when re-solidifying. (Also raw Shea butter will turn your lotions/salve gritty after melting and recooling it). Better to use extra or "ultra refined" Shea to avoid the grittyness. Also, after its poured, setting into the freezer x Exactly 12 minutes, it helps to solidify faster and avoid some of the grit. (or use the ultra refined version and set in freezer x12). Add essential oils for scent just prior to the pour so it doesn't cook. This is wonderful quality beeswax. You can rely on it being exceptional and consistent quality for your project to turn out right.

Great natural wax option for homemade coffee grounds fire starter pucks.
I bought this for a slightly non-conventional use - Coffee grounds fire starters. That may sound odd, but it actually works quite well. I use even parts of wax pellets and coffee grounds. Melt the wax in any type of double boiler (I used a smaller pot inside a larger pot filled (partially) with water. After the double boiler heats up, it takes about 10 minutes to melt the wax. Mix 1/3 cup molasses and the coffee grounds, and then pour into whatever form you have. I bought some soap making forms so I could make slightly larger pucks. Allow to cool and then wrap in wax paper for storage. Burn time for this size puck is about 45 minutes and smells great (if you like coffee.) I hear the coffee grounds are also great for insect repellent. Once my project was done, I cleaned the melting pot with simple paper towel. It was a pretty easy cleanup process, just make sure you do this while the pot is still warm. (Don't do this when the pot is HOT; no need to risk a burn.) When cooled, the pucks came out of the molds clean and in one piece. They were solid, and not at all sticky to the touch. The pucks themselves were perfectly formed and solid. For me, the finish product is pretty much coffee color, so I can't directly speak to the look of the wax for more traditional candle making or similar crafts. The wax has a distinct smell while melting, so do this in a well ventilated area if you don't want your house smelling like wax. I prefer this to paraffin wax. Pound for pound, this will be a bit more expensive than paraffin, but it is a natural option and worked well for my project. I won't be making these by the dozen (although goodness knows I drink enough coffee to do so...) This will be my go-to wax when I am ready to make more.
