Songs of the 1960s - The New Decade Series: E-Z Play Today Volume 366 (E-Z Play Today - The New Decade, 366)
P**R
Has many of "the biggest hits of the 1960s" as claimed. Simplified arrangements may not appeal to all.
The "New Decade Series" apparently replaces a previous series of songbooks by decade (usually in 2 volumes, e.g. Songs of the 1960s and More Songs of the 1960s). The publisher should be congratulated for combining these collections into larger, single volumes as it represents a better value for the purchaser. These "New Decade Series" books also have a few songs missing from the earlier series.I wish the publisher would be better at letting Amazon show the table of contents (even if no other interior is shown). The song listing on the Amazon display page is only about 1/3 of what's in the book. The variety of song books from this publisher often have considerable overlap (duplications), making it hard to avoid the duplicates. However, purchasing 5 or 6 songs individually (from one of the digital sources) often more than covers the cost of the book as a whole and these books occasionally have difficult to find pieces. This is a good selection of "biggest hits of the 1960s"...The EZplay Today format uses a system of simplified arrangements displayed in a "Fake Book" style, that is only the treble staff is shown with chord markings just above. Some people may not like this presentation.

Awesome for those who can't read music
Bought it as a gift for my grandma to play pianoGot the EZ read one because she doesn't know how to read music. It says the letter of the note inside of the noteBe careful when buying--- Hal Leonard sometimes makes both EZ read versions and non-EZ read ones, so look at the cover and double check to be sure it's what you wantOverall she loves it and asked for more EZ read booksI think it's a good way to start off if you absolutely can't read music. From there you can move up to simple notationNotes are extra large and a bit childish-looking, compared to most sheet music

fun music
I'm a professional musician and teacher. I use this music all the time. This music is intended for the auto keyboards and auto chords. Or if you learn your chords you can use it. It's called fake or lead music like the bands play and is only the melody line and you fill in the rest. If you learn a few chords you can play however you want and you fill in the left hand. It's really fun if you know how to use it. I've taught everywhere from no music knowledge to advance musicians and they can use this music. These books have an excellent selection of songs with very few filler songs. Hope this helps.

Greed conquers all! Hal Leonard Shame on You!
Ok. This series is tailored to Beginners...But to insult their intelligence by subjecting them to substandard arrangements and what sounds like amateurs musicians using TOY instruments is beyond belief. Buyer beware & Hal Leonard you have done yourself a grave dis-service by releasing this series in this substandard format! The concept for this series was a stroke of Genius but the follow through is (despicable) there I said it! All of Hal Leonard's other Book/CD Play Alongs are Outstanding ( Think artists such as Benson, Stevie Wonder, Sonny Rollins, Chick Cores, Santana) This Best of 60s, 80s, 2000 series (spoiler alert gonna use Profanity now) S---s

Not For Piano/Vocal /Guitar
This is not the version of the book I checked out from the library. It's an EZ Play book with just basic notation [melody line and key changes]. The correct book is $24.99 and contains access to backing/play along tracks. I was very disappointed when I received the Item. The Item description is not up to par.

Not what I wanted
I was so disappointed. I bought this book for my keyboard. I liked the songs that were listed. No pictures of the actual music was shown online. When I opened up the book and saw the large notes, the letters, and music for only one hand, I couldn’t believe that’s what I ordered. If I had seen a music page sample, I would not have purchased. I wanted an easy type book, but not that easy.

Meets my needs. Helps me learn a song faster. I can improvise my own left hand comping.

Fun songs in this book from the '60s
This song book has a bunch of songs that I loved from the '60s. I am still relatively a beginner with playing music. I have been learning on a bunch of the EZ play books which help you to play recreational music.

Happy with 60's Book
I'm happy with the Songs of the Sixties Book. The 1960's music is my favorite music and this book will give me hours of pleasure and fun playing 1960's music on the keyboard. 10 out of 10! Thanks!
