Rough Country Cold Air Intake for Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500 (2014-2018) 5.3L/6.2L - Increases Horsepower, Towing Power & Acceleration

I recently installed the Rough Country air intake, and I’m extremely impressed with the overall value and performance. For the price point, it delivers performance comparable to brands like K&N, but at a fraction of the cost. And shipping ONE DAY! The airflow improvement over the factory intake is immediately noticeable. Throttle response feels sharper and more responsive, and while I wasn’t expecting a significant change in sound, there is a clear and aggressive tone when accelerating. It adds a nice performance sound without being overwhelming. Installation was straightforward and user-friendly. It took me about 35 minutes to complete. Those new to DIY installations may need a bit more time, but overall it’s a simple process. I would recommend picking up four 1-inch hose clamps ahead of time, as they are not included in the kit. The unit I received had a small cosmetic dent (shown in photos), but it does not affect performance in any way. Overall, this intake offers excellent performance, sound, and value for the money. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable upgrade over stock.

It fits a little tight but it sounds great and looks cool. I would say definitely get small hose clamps for the little black hoses. Definitely worth the money

east to install, airflow is amazing, sounds amazing. This beats those other high priced Cold air intakes.

well packaged,good instructions,good fit easy install. Only problem with this package is there are no clamps for the small hoses. If they would supply the right size clamps for the total install then I would have given it 5 stars. It does help with the air flow and give a nice sound when called on. As far as power increase and extra milage that is left to be determined. That said, buy this unit and replace the factory Darth Vater hood. This looks a lot more Manly. After all looks are important.

Truck sounds great, better horsepower, better air flow, looks great, better fuel economy, and was easy to install!

The pipe was damaged, but the box wasn't damaged so kinda just seems the packing could be better. *INSTALLER BEWARE - CHECK THE INSIDE OF THE PIPE BEFORE INSTALLATION!* I had a bunch of machining debris inside my pipe that I had to blow out that would have for surely came loose in operation and gone thru my engine. The installation instructions said that the fittings for the breather hoses were 3/4" wrench but were 13/16's wrench, and also said later on that being the barb style fitting it wouldn't need hose clamps. Perhaps if the hose that came in the kit was next size smaller that would have been the case, but unless I wanted to pull unmetered/unfiltered air into the engine you def need hose clamps on those fittings. Nice thing tho at least for the GM 6.2 L the hose was actually big enough that you wont need the not included smaller hose clamps for that connection because you can firmly fit the hose over the valve cover fittings. The 4" hose clamp for the throttle body connection (only get one) broke immediately upon tightening down so I had to grab another hose clamp from our parts room. The instructions say that it's an oiled filter, but mine was dry and came with no oil...so here's to hoping it should be a dry filter now. Other than that most everything fit together nice and looks good and sounds mean when you give'er the onion. Pro tip tho, when mounting the air filter shield into the engine bay, don't tighten the mount bolts down until last. You will have to wiggle and adjust it around when putting the pipe in to have everything look and fit right in the engine compartment. Then tighten it down, it's a rather sturdy looking set up. I had an extra 3.5" clamp and coupler when I was done. Also the 5.3L accordion tube throttle body coupler will actually fit perfectly on the 6.2L throttle body opening, just need a lil soapy water but will at least alone for some flexibility for the engine torque moving the block around. Much better throttle response with this kit than factory. Doubt I picked up any real power (nothing notable to me), but the sound and room opened up in the engine bay now is worth the money alone.

Works and is easy enough to install I put it on my 2017 Silverado with the 4.3 and it works great I’ve seen a major improvement in fuel mileage It does not fit the 4.3 L out out of the box. You have to get an adapter, but they do not advertise that it fits so that was OK with me.

To start off the pipe came scratched and bent , on the intake side like it had been dropped. I had to get a pair of channel locks and straighten it round. when installing 2 of the clamps seized and stripped the threads “ hand tightened, with a screwdriver handle /adapter to the socket “ : one of them seized half way then couldn’t get off or tighten up , the other seized when taking off pipe to replace the first broken one . “Which I then had to twist/cut the clamp off-then, had to go buy another set of 3.5” clamps from a diesel shop to replace the broken ones. 20$ later. Another thing is that the kit didn’t even come with clamps to tighten the rubber hoses to the valve cover , I had to make another trip to the store to buy those aswell ! Another 8$ on top of that . All in all not worth it in my opinion, I should have spent the money the first time & got a better kit. I understand it wasn’t much to begin with but nothings worse than getting something and it being mistreated, having cheap parts, and missing .

Purchased this cold air intake for my 2017 GMC Sierra. Install was very easy took me under an hour. Despite some other reviews of the air filter falling off I have not had that issue. Build quality is great & kit looks awesome on my truck. Had to source some small gear clamps for the hoses that go from the valve covers to the intake tube so the hoses would stay secured. Paired with an exhaust this kit gained me about 2L/100KM when driving conservatively. Sounds great as well! Well worth it for the money Would recommend!

It showed up on time, in good condition and installed very easily.

Steal of a deal at this price. Installation was a breeze as well. I would however recommend adding four small hose clamps for the PCV hoses, just for peace of mind. Sounds cool and added 18 ponies.

Product seems well built. The clamps that came with it are okay but would suggest purchasing better ones, Along with 4 x 1” clamps for the return hoses. Product came scratched in a few spots which is why I’m taking a star away in rating, so maybe packaging could be a bit more detailed. Overall good product and would recommend
