A diamond in the rough.
As always with Disney, a good entertaining well crafted film in 3D. We're lucky to have both an 'old' LG 3D tv and a more modern Epson 3D LCD projector to view our 3D collection. It's so nice that there is still 'new' 3d material coming out. I'm a huge cinemagoer (well usually). I've always found 3D at the cinema a bit lacklustre. At home you can tweak it far easier and shockingly even in 1080 HD it's an experience that never fails to entertain. Decent sound also helps too.Film enjoyment is a subjective affair. But, this film has flair, humour, spectacle, great sound and I know we'll return to watching this again.Steve's top 3D tip for specatacle wearers for passive 3D? Buy polarised flipdown lenses. They weigh next to nothing and you don't have that awkwardness of wearing two pairs of specs.Roll on holographic projection. I love the concept of VR for viewing (I do have a Samsung VR headset), but the whole affair is heavy, sweaty ,cumbersome and with my prescription a bit of a strain.Keep the 3d coming. Wbought his on offer with the 'new' Lion King and are looking forward to watching that too.We have an OLED tv and Disney + in 4k, but as super as that is..I do like the magic of 3D. Or perhaps I should, 'Let it Go' to quote a Disney staple?

3D disk is bright and colorful, with excellent audio
Both the 3D and blu-ray disks are well mastered and produce excellent images and audio. (For buyers in the States, both disks work perfectly in Region A/1 blu-ray players.)As for the movie, I saw it on the big screen and enjoyed it... although it didn't knock my socks off. But on viewing it additional times (with and without children), the movie has grown on me. I have to mark this as another fine remake/adaptation from an animated classic. (For comparison, I thought the new Lion King was quite a dud, but the live action Beauty and the Beast was excellent.)The 1992 animated version was indeed a classic. I find it difficult to compare the older one with this one, given difference in presentation and cast. I'm not sure they're comparable. As such, I appreciate each of them separately for what each brings to the screen... and both have a place in my library for good reasons.

Great family entertainment.
Enjoyable live action remake of the classic Disney cartoon. When the original trailer dropped everyone including myself thought that Will Smith would be a disaster as the genie, thankfully we were all proved wrong and he is an absolute delight in the role. The film is at it's best when he is on screen.Whilst the actors playing Aladdin,Princess Jasmine etc. are engaging and the special effects are impressive,it is Smiths.performance that dominates .

Brilliant update on a Disney classic
All the original songs plus an excellent new one, written by the two guys who wrote the songs for Greatest Showman. Will Smith doing an excellent job as the genie, taking over from the late great Robin Williams, big footsteps to fill but in my opinion Will more than makes the part his own. I love the fact that Disney cast far and wide to get the right actors to play the parts to complete the 'Arabian' look and feel of the film, and an absolute heartthrob in Marwan Kenzari as the villain Jafar, who will be forever known now as 'Hot Jafar'!!!, brilliant entertainment value and songs and scenery that stay with you long after the film has finished, another Disney re-make triumph!!

Absolutely breathtaking
When I first heard they were doing a remake of the 1992 animated classic I couldn't wait to see it. I wasn't disappointed, the sets and costumes were breath taking and the acting and singing was brilliant. I will admit that the portrayal of Jafar was slightly wooden but the rest of the cast was stupendous. Will Smith was fantastic as the genie, putting his own "fresh prince" style spin on the character worked brilliantly ad a verse to trying to do the impossible of recreating the character robin Williams brilliantly voiced in the original. Overall a treat for everyone and a must see movie.

Fantastic Disney Movie. Will Smith is a treat as the Genie!
Really enjoyed watching this movie. Was better than I could have imagined. It's one you could watch again and again, it was that enjoyable. Definitely one of the best Disney movies made in a long time. The special effects, the actors, the whole direction, just superb. And.. the Singing - usually I find musicals a bit annoying, but this one was next level. The songs were not overly long and over done, just the right durations.. And, the actors really can sing; especially the actress who plays Jasmine - wonderful voice. And Finally all I will say is two words; "Will Smith"..
